Older people: Have you become less into Pokemon?

Lol. I've got more into pokemon with age.But i suppose i started at 12....

Anyway, i watch the anime coz i like the battles. And coz every now and then there's a giant pokemon.

I just started reading the manga, and have read every chapter up to Unown part. II in D/P.

And i know EV train and tons of stuff.

And i had quite a few TCG cards. At one point i was really into it, learning the rules and everything. But then someone stole my Torchic (play tragic music). So all i have left is a Salamence and Latias from the Holon ones, coz they're shiny and awesome-looking

im older and i like everything about pokemon still thats why i wish i lived in Japan cuz you can be any age and like pokemon unlike where i am where i have to keep it a secret (none of my friends know i still like pokemon)

When i was 4-6 i loved pokemon soooo much. I waatched every single episode before school, i collected stickers, posters, cards, and movies too. I even painted my walls bright yellow (all hail pikachu!) But I didn't have any games.
Now in high school I keep flicking in and out of intrest. i don't want to play the games until gen 5 comes out. also I keep it secret because pokemon is nerdish in my school.

Yup ^^'

When I was 9 or so, I remember collecting like a whole bunch of cards. I think I had over 1000. Not sure, but I kinda stopped counting after like 500. Not sure. And I rarely missed an episode of Pokemon on TV/Internet.

But after they started airing Hoenn Battle Frontier Episodes, I sort of lost interest in pokemon, because I missed like 2/3 of the episodes. And I stopped playing my pokemon games to play my Avatar games 8D
yay Aang!

Then when Sinnoh came along, I was clueless to what's happening. 8D
and I finished my Diamond game and I stopped to play Pokemon Ranger 8)

And now, I barely watch TV/Play my DSi ;_;

stupid curriculum D;

I never watched the anime a lot, only sometimes when I was zapping and randomly chose it then. I also never collected Pokemon cards.
But the games, I played and still play them excessively, but not always, since this also applies for me:
I seem to go through an in-and-out phase.

So, except that I'm now planning stuff more than I did at that time, I have not matured in Pokemon in the last 10 years.

Define "Older" !!

I am nearly 24 and yes I still LOVE Pokémon even though I may not watch/play it as much as I used to, I still have the occasional dream that Pokémon are real and the prospect of that excites me in my sad little life :D

Being 20, I can say my love for Pokemon has not wavered. However, over the years, I have found videogame series I like more than Pokemon, such as Dragon Quest, Megami Tensei, and the Chrono Series.

Even though it's no longer my absolute favorite, I don't like it any less than what I did back in 1998.

If anything, Pokemon opened the doors for me, getting into RPGs, Anime, and Manga. Had I not been into it, I would most likely have developed completely different hobbies by now.

Pokemon kind of phased out of my life around 2002, or around the time Johto was coming to a close. Recently I've watched every episode up to Battle Frontier. It's been rough trying to convince myself to watch Battle Frontier, mainly because the voices are so bad lol. I found out a while ago that the orginal voice of Meowth from episodes 35 until episode 421 or something like that passed away in December of 08'. I guess I got back into pokemon mainly because I noticed my collection was missing lots of cards that must have been stolen from me about the time I first quit getting into the anime. Now I'm nerding it back up and catching back up with my collection, plus some and I guess coming on the internet and finding out there is people my age who still enjoy it kind of inspired me to get back into it myself.

I have pretty evenly played Pokémon ever since I got Blue version the year it came out. I played it non-stop for a couple years or so, getting very excited when I got both Gold and Silver for Christmas one year, and then Crystal later on. Before the GBA games came out, though, Pokémon was no longer "cool" where I grew up. I was pretty much the only person I knew who still played them, and I had to hide it from my friends. Nevertheless, I stuck with it, pre-ordering Ruby and Sapphire, and eventually getting FireRed and LeafGreen about a year after their debut. All throughout Generation III, though, I was hiding my Pokémon playing from my friends. I continued playing various games from various generations pretty often even until the last few months. Then I got a Nintendo DS and Diamond this past December. I'm in college now, and suddenly, I don't care anymore about people knowing I play Pokémon. My girlfriend has even come to accept my PokéHabit! :D I'm getting back into it almost as much I was when Pokémon was still "cool." I feel like the games have seemed to follow my maturity. They have progressed with my generation, and I think that every new set of games has been aimed at the same generation of people as we get older, while still being accessible to younger audiences.

I never watched the anime except for the first three movies, though.

I'm not that into it, but I still play through the old games now and then.

I think I enjoy it on a much less mature level than when I was a kid.

I also feel that I am a more avid fan than I was 9-10 years ago. Back then, I was content just to play the games (keeping the same basic teams each play-through), watch the show, and "collect" the cards. Now, I try to learn as much as I can, feeling that it's almost a responsibility. I actually build my own decks to play with in the TCG now rather than slightly modifying the theme decks.
And I get offended when people say that the first "150" are the only real pokemon.

I've been a Pokethusiast for over a decade now, but I saw my down phase in high school. Elementary school, EVERYONE was into Pokemon, but when I hit high school, that was no longer cool. Going to a small town high school meant I really had to do anything I could to avoid completely ostracizing myself.

During my Senior year of high school, I really stopped caring about what the people there thought of me. My Pokemon fandom reared again, and I embraced it.

Since then, I've only become *more* involved with Pokemon. My fandom is now much higher than it ever was when I was younger, and I'm perfectly okay with that.

And I get offended when people say that the first "150" are the only real pokemon.

THIS. This makes me RAGE. Also, it's 151! Mew is part of the originals too! Arghs.

Anyways, I wouldn't consider myself old (I'm 20 turning 21 in a few weeks) but when I was younger, I had so many Pokemon stuff, my parents went insane since I was practically draining their money. But nowadays, I have a decent job and buy my own stuff. I guess you can say I never grew out of it.

Knowing a couple myself, I say: Yes. Yes they would. XP

And I've gotten less into Pokemon, but never entirely uninterested (though you'd never guess it from how much I play the other games). As soon as I've gotten to 100% completion on my new game, I pop Pokemon right back in. It's a wonderful cycle.
