Well, It doesn't really much matter anymore coz it's just basically one week apart. Maybe we can rage more when it was one month apart lmao.

Agreed; waiting for seven extra days shouldn't be that tough. If it still weren't international, and we were required to wait several months after Japanese release to finally play these games, then that would've been a different story, but luckily, it isn't. I'm very glad that they've decided to move away from that!

True, since they did done it kinda semi perfectly in XY, I think that's why they did delay it for one week only and not more? Tbh, I think it's just fair tbh. For all we know they could revert the system back to the old waiting game, but no.

They said a worldwide release...in November.

Is everyone getting the game in November? Yeah, pretty much.

I think it was worded like this specifically for the reason of "we're releasing the game 1 week later in Europe."

Waiting months is a completely different deal to waiting a week. I honestly think it's fine that they get it a week later, it's still a vast improvement over the gaps in release dates we've had for Pokemon in the past. They've already shown an interest in changing that trend with the last two games, X/Y and now ORAS - both with worldwide releases in the same month.

Worldwide releases usually mean on the same day... so it should've been worded better on their part. Btw "it's latest four games...or two pairs" not "last two games"...that'll be XY xD
XY was meant to be on the same day if not for the leaks... perhaps the week delay is a measure to make sure we don't see what happened in XY? I heard during XY's early leaks that Nintendo was investigating stores in Europe and Canada as it wasn't their early selling of games. Considering that shipping usually take place around a week or so before release the stores in Europe and Canada (?) will receive their copies by the time stores in the rest of the world's stores will be allowed to sell their copies legally.

Well, Gamefreak isn't exactly "wrong" either.

The initial trailers state that ORAS will have a worldwide November release.
Even though Europe is getting it one week later than US/Japan, it is still within the November month.

Of course, many interested parties in Europe are frustrated with this delay. It's understandable. However, it is important to note that this release date is a huge improvement over the previous generations... I can still remember waiting to play Black/White when Japan has already gotten the game months ago. Couldn't import the game because I use a DSi and the Japanese versions have a region lock.

It might just be a misunderstanding on both our parts, since GF failed to expand more on the decision to delay Europe's release, and us for being overconfident that we are getting the games the same time like we had in XY.

That's exactly how I feel, to be honest! It's only a seven-day difference, anyway, so it's nothing to actually get frustrated over. Some might not like it, but it could still be withstood.

I surely remember the days we had to wait months after the Japanese release, in fact Australians had to wait the longest to play Black & White (we were last in the order of release for that, when normally we had our release occur between the American and European, however Australia actually got the first international release in the case of Gold & Silver) and I remember getting heavily spoiled by other countries that got the games before our release came around, thanks to Let's Play videos appearing all over YouTube.

When I first heard about X & Y's "worldwide" release, I was worried if they weren't going to successfully pull it off, and apparently I was true when I saw those leaks coming from Canadians and Italians who bought the games early. However it did have a positive side though, because remember that we saw all those Vivillon patterns getting revealed, that we didn't know about for months since the original pink (aka Meadow Pattern) Vivillon was revealed. It was thanks to one of those screenshots that I found what form my game (I eventually got the games come December) was possibly getting, and that turned out to be the River Pattern.

But still, it was fun speculating and looking at those leaks so we knew what they were going to throw at us in the game. The Europeans getting a week's delay here might have been due to said "early release" of X/Y but I guess that may remain a mystery. Still, they did at least make an improvement with the gap between Japanese and international releases lately, in fact Black 2 & White 2 got released internationally only 4 months after the Japanese. FireRed & LeafGreen had a similar case as well, being that both the Japanese and international release also occurred in the same year. I do feel sad for the Europeans who are upset they are worried about getting spoiled due to the other regions getting the games a week ahead of them, but it's not as drastic of a gap compared to previous games barring X/Y. I remember one of the speculated theories behind the European delay was a possible editing out of the Game Corner (assuming if it does return), given they have anti-gambling laws in force over there since 2008 if memory serves me right. But you know, it'll probably never be known.

Speaking about the gap I hope that for the next game(s) the gap will not exist. Hopefully it won't grow to what it used to be from here on out. It's sad to think that Europe and Canada getting the games later may be a result of the failed XY same day release. I'm also hoping that Australia and/or the USA don't do what Canada and Italy stores did, if not GF may simply choose to favor Japan and give everyone else the game one week later...

I imagine that if a certain region breaks street date and leaks screenshots once again I'd imagine how many would be fuming if they decide to delay the next game's release for the culprit once again. And giving Japan special treatment would almost be like taking a huge step backwards, though with not as drastic of a wait as previous generations.

Apparently I know some European players want to import the games after hearing of their region's delay, but as I know 3DS is region-locked so yeah not gonna succeed in getting the games to work. The issue is that I know they're gonna face being spoiled by the other regions who get the games a week in advance and remember that some people prefer to avoid spoilers, often going to the point they want to avoid the internet (because well, if you're someone who uses a popular blogging site such as Tumblr, you're certainly gonna run into spoilers at some point) until they get the games just so they can do a blind playthrough.

Unless there are some bad stores leaking the games before it's planned release date again. Why can't everyone just follow the street date tbh >.> If only Nintendo would distribute the copies at the last minute haha, I doubt it would happen :P

Perhaps they will...or at least try to get as close as they can to it without risking that they won't arrive at time.

There's still no news on the canadian release date. Wonder why there's been little word on it. It's already been a month since the rest of us got the release date. What if Canada actually end up getting it in December?

I'm starting to think Canada wont get it at all. But I really hope as a Canadian, we get something special for this delay on the release date.....

I just struggle to see what a 1 week difference can make.

What if Canada's unreleased release date is a foreshadowing of Canada being the next region in Gen 7? We don't know haha, just mere speculation :33

There's a high chance that we might get a region based off Canada at some point, but I'm not really sure if it'll be for generation seven, though, because as far as I'm aware, the idea seem to have gotten popular only recently. Haha.

The more popular idea for Gen VII is that it'll take place in South America (due to the Easter island like item we got). I prefer they go with South America so each continent get's at least one chance (I don't see another Asian or a fifth Japanese region for a while). I'll like for Gen VIII to be Australia and Gen IX to be Africa. Gen X can be non-Japan Asian.

Anyways I think it goes without saying (but I'll say it anyways) that that reason is proably not why they're delaying the release of Canada's release date...
