119. "Tank!" lost in a Best Anime Opening Poll to "This Game". Mainstream anime community clearly has awful taste now.

Though "This Game" is not awful. It's just not that great and outside of the opening 10 seconds is musically a bit lacking.

Oh well. The real final is the Guren no Yumiya vs Platinum Disco semi at this point. Winner of that probably wins the whole thing.

Do people even really enjoy that song? Like, this isn't me saying this because I don't like the show, Unravel's a fine opening, Crossing Fields is pretty fun- regardless of the show and my feelings towards it, I'll give credit where credit's due, but "This Game" is an incredibly unremarkable opening and song that most people I know, at least, seem to agree on.

I really feel like it's just NGNL bias, really, and people don't like the opening because it's good, but they like it because it's NGNL.

Eeeh...I kind of expect it, Unravel's staggeringly popular.

Still, though, it's a shame. I feel like MS,YB never gets nearly as much credit as it deserves and, despite being a good opening, Unravel gets WAY too much. Ah, well.
 
MS,YB is definitely a song I personally find infinitely better in its full form compared to the cut they used for Angel Beats!'s OP, though. And the cut they use is actually pretty good, it's just once you know the whole song that it starts to feel underwhelming.

What I'm really disappointed in is that this year's /r/anime Best OP bracket didn't have Mikakunin de Shinkoukei's opening. That would have been my winner all the way through. Stupid catchy, stupid fun song and OP animation. Granted, it may have actually won in a past year. I just don't feel like checking.

Also, fun fact: the Digimon Adventures dub is available on Crunchyroll for everyone in the USA right now. Posting this twice because the news is so nice.

...At the thirteenth Tiger Dojo, the characters totally lampshade how obtuse this end is and how annoying it must be for players to keep track of the factors affecting it. They then give me concrete tips on how to form a strategy around this, after which they cheer, finally having been of use in this game. And... Now they're depressed since most people will automatically skip this bad end just by playing normally, so near no one will have noted their giving advice.

They soon cheer up again, considering how players will try to complete all the bad ends and try to find ways of reaching this one. Then they realise the players will end up hating the bad end for, again, how obtuse it is, and we're back to square one.

The scene ends with a spontaneous explosion.

No Pain, No Gain for me. Played a big part in motivating me after a certain not-really-personal-but-I'm-being-vague-for-the-lolz failure, and overall is just a fantastic nano piece and cohesive animation-melody. Lubit.
