For the guy playing, that was a sign of a shit game.

Then again, I had a monopoly on the male voices and the other gal had a monopoly on the female ones, so he wasn't really doing anything other than pressing X.


Then again he also shits on Monogatari's storytelling, saying it's trying to seem clever by obfuscating information and never being literal in its narration, so we know he's got shit taste.

A lot of VN styled games are like that, especially when they're Adventure games and have Social Links. Mainly because the idea is, you're there for the reading since it doesn't really stop. Kinda in the same vein as Ace Attorney. Though it shouldn't take 3 hours, it really only takes that long if you're trudging through narration, which really comes with voicing (our communal playthrough of VLR took a good long while).

But the first gameplay portion doesn't take all that long to get to. Certainly less than an hour.

If that's the case, though, I might just gift it to you. I'd love for as many people as possible to get into the DR. Not the anime, though. For so many reasons.
