Yeah, but owning a 3DS does get you a good chunk of modern JRPGs, and a good number of quality ones. The DS and 3DS combined could flood a small ravine with all of the good JRPGs they have.

Also, play The World Ends With You, it's fantastic.

My thoughts on the matter.

@Don - I don't think I've met a boring gamer, yet. Honestly I don't think there's ever a reason to keep quiet about games because you're always going to connect with someone. Regardless of how little you play or how little you know about gaming, if someone else is interested in what you're talking about- or even if not, if someone has an interest in something related to whatever you're interested in gaming-wise (or even if the opposite is true), it opens up completely new avenues for both involved. And clearly there are gamers here in DLTMS0, so I say go crazy- it can pretty much only benefit you in the end.

Sim City 4 and Civilization IV are my all time favorites, but games take ages for me in the latter and the billion mods I have makes the former take eons to load and frequently crash, and I've deduced my level is not the casual interest in them that many here have. I passively explore new mods for each now, having actively done so when I had more free time. My goal in SimCity is to create semi-realistic cities and metropolises, and in Civ, it's to get better at the game with each match while winning each match.

Being a PC gamer myself, I'm really sad that not too many great JRPG's are available on PC.

Well that's becoming less true by the day. Ever since VNs started cropping up on Steam two years back, Japanese publishers (or rather, publishers of Japanese games) have taken note that, at least in the West, the PC is a viable platform for Japanese games. As such, we've been getting games that one would never expect to be on the PC, such as Hyperdimension Neptunia, Dead or Alive, Valkyria Chronicles, and so on, greatly integrating a long ignored fanbase to PC gaming. Heck, even Akiba's Trip is making it's way there, of all things.

I can't say there's been a better time to be a PC gamer, regardless of who you are.

That is true, but there are still more on other platforms.

Campus video game BGM club is having a Nintendo concert live stream.

Was going to go for the streetpasses, but realized I could multitask and grind some MMO levels while watching said stream.

Both of those places are more known for their alcoholism, not particularly their great pubs. Of course they do both have good pubs but quality wasn't really a part of the mission statement last night. Not to mention the fact neither of those places are overly welcoming to us English.

I actually ended up with a real excuse, sister asked me to babysit tonight. Didn't get home before football though unfortunately, although I did get to listen to a big chunk of it on the train.
