Sweet mother of Celestia

Stumbled across a fanfic I thought had died, only for it to have 27 new chapters

And much to my horror, the chapters are still over 10,000 words long

95 chapters long, nearly a million words total and it really should be broken up into 4-5 separate stories instead of one long never-ending story

Celestia is a princess who rules Equestria from her palace in Canterlot
She has a younger sister named Luna and it's a popular theory that their mother was an Alicorn usually dubbed "Fausticorn" after the creator of Friendship is Magic: Lauren Faust

As to what Equestria itself is, most people tend to view it as the entire planet of "Equus/Equis" since Luna and Celestia raise and lower the moon and sun respectively

It's best not to think about it too hard

Lauren Faust also made Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

You could skip the filler and cut down on a lot of the time. I enjoyed some filler in part one but most in two has been pretty terrible.

Don't get ahead of yourself

What if when the Crystal Empire had returned, Shining and Cadence had not beaten Sombra to it? The King returns to his old tricks, enslaving the population once-again, leading them into a new age of despair and misery.
That is, of course, what might have happened if a certain deranged Human hadn't woken up in the snowy wastes clothed in nothing but a singlet, a set of Boxers covered in hearts and smiley faces and armed with an empty bottle of vegetable juice and a large wheel of cheese.

...This should be good

What's the premise of Danball Senki as a game (I'm assuming it's a game)?

178.
It's a game and an anime. Essentially, it's about a phenomenon where people use small robots called LBX for recreation (mainly battling, as the name implies) and, as one would expect, it becomes a battle to save the world when one Ban Yamano is given an LBX with a secret coveted by an underground organization.

Gameplay-wise, it plays like a mix between Custom Robo and Gundam, and if you like those two or one of them, this game is an absolute blast. Apart from the battling, you have a lot of freedom in terms of what you want your LBX to be. If you want it to be a sniper that has low defense but moves quickly, you can do that. If you want to make someone who uses dual-blades but has wealthy defense and lower speed, go for it. There's a lot of choice involved, and it's really a great 1:1 with the in-game universe itself.

As for the story, I was expecting it to be more happy-go-lucky like Inazuma Eleven (since it's by the same people) where no one stays dead (except when they do) and- the fifth-ish of Danball Senki is a plot to assassinate the Prime Minister. Danball Senki is interesting in that, all things considered, it treats its crowd like it isn't dumb and doesn't know what death is or that things aren't always happy. People die in this, and the characters have to try to figure out what it really means for kids to get involved in something much larger than them. While the story isn't the most complex, it can go from dark to light hearted to dark again pretty easily and has some interesting themes.

Some of it, maybe. Other parts you will know, even without reading the source. Filler in Naruto is a bit of a weird thing, I honestly believe the staff put more effort into producing [some of] it than a lot of the main material. There are guides about though so it's quite easy to avoid. Or you could just watch it, like I did.
