Anime/Manga One Piece Appreciation Forum

Hey there everyone! This is a forum dedicated to One Piece, and for the ones who love it. For the sake of others who aren't caught up yet, please hide spoilers, and people can see them if they can. Now, a lot of people (Especially in the West, and they have good reason to) don't like One Piece because they rather watched the Dub and hated it, or it's just too long. I started reading the manga around 2 and a half years ago, about when Dressrosa just started, and I instantly fell in love. I got caught up in less than a month. So, what is your guys' favorite arc right now? What do you think of the show? Who's your favorite crewmate and why? Who's your favorite villain that Luffy has fought? I want to know, because if you can't tell I love One Piece with a burning passion!

For the questions, here are my answers:

My favorite arc is Thriller Bark.
I think the show is absolutely amazing!
My favorite crewmate right now is gonna have to be Sanji, with Usopp a close second. I like Sanjis attitude, and his dreams. I also like his reasons for most things, especially cooking, and why he uses his feet.
My favorite villain is gonna have to be not a main villain, and Luffy didn't fight him. My favorite villain by far is Kaku.

Lets see, funny enough, I disliked Thriller Bark! To decide on a favorite arc is hard to do. I'd say it's either the first few mini arcs when Luffy first starts traveling, or Alabastia.
I think the show is pretty good, but the manga takes the cake for me.
My favorite crewmate right now is gonna have to be Zoro, with Luffy a close second. Robin is third. I like Zoros sense of determination, and wish I could apply it more, but well, I don't, haha. Luffy is Luffy, and Robin has one of my favorite backgrounds.
My favorite villain is probably Crocodile. His sense of cruelty makes him a fantastic villain, and I also like him in general.
My least favorite villain is Kuro. He's cruel, but it's not charming, and he was really weak and pathetic to be honest. I usually try skip over that arc on rereads of the manga.

The only arc I've actually seen in its entirety is the Water 7/Enies Lobby arc, so that's my defacto favorite arc until I finish another arc.

I'm personally watching the anime largely alongside Toonami right now, so I kind of jumped in right in the middle of things.

I haven't really developed a favorite crew member or a favorite villain yet. I'm kind of just along for the ride with this series.

I'm curious as to what you disliked about Thriller Bark. I'm currently in it now so let's refrain from too many spoilers, but I do find it a watchable arc.

One Piece is the greatest manga that I've ever read. And I've read some good ones. I look forward every week to reading a new chapter.
The anime... ehh. It's decent to watch the non 4-kids stuff but the pacing is way too slow. It's like they're trying t. The early arcs are a good watch and despite the slow pacing, I still try to keep up with the new episodes.

Favorite Arc- Marineford(War of the Best). There's so many others that can be put here but there's so many epic moments in this arc.
The anime is not nearly as good as the manga as I stated before. It's kinda a shame. If a better studio was in charge of making OP episodes, the anime would be one of the best out there.
Sanji. Zoro(epic), Robin(hot), and Luffy(awesome) come close. But Sanji takes the cake. I like his personality and his fighting style.
I'm going with Doflamingo. Maybe it's recency bias, but he's such a well created, complex villain. Not your typical anime villain.

Skypeia, it'd be great if Oda could focus on the actual One Piece, Luffy because I've been fucking with him since childhood, Don Krieg because that was when the show started to get real
