This made me think of how you could ride Doduo in a Pokemon Ranger game to find Pokemon to befriend in whatever field that was. I don't remember the game, but I think that kind of thing would be really neat, just riding a Pokemon for the heck of it in the middle of a city where races take place on certain days, where there's an area that a lot of rare Pokemon appear on certain days, etc.
 
How about riding on a Sharpedo through the currents on Routes 132 to 134? It'd be better this way, otherwise we have to keep flying back to Pacifidlog. One of the many pains.

That would be awesome (in addition to taking effect at Jagged Pass). I imagine that we'll get something for the Desert area and Surfing (since a good chunk of the game/region requires that action; Lapras would work great despite not "officially" being in the Hoenn Dex as of now). Zooming on the back of a Flygon in the desert would be great (since it's said to kick up sandstorms and mimic "singing/whistling" with the beating of its wings...and it even comes with its own biological Go-Goggles! :3)

But wouldn't Sharpedo's Rough Skin hurt? {XD} (although I think the Pokemon anime has an explanation that says that the Rough Skin doesn't hurt a Trainer once the Pokemon with the Rough Skin Ability gets accustomed to the Trainer and vice versa, or something like that...)
 
I'm just imagining riding all the native Hoenn Pokémon and laughing at Luvdisc. Anyway, I bet we'll see it back again in some areas.

This sounds like it could be really possible, but...ouch. Those volcanoes, and not to mention Camerupt has a serious case of Magma Armour going on!

That said, I really hope we see more than the typical quadruped riding we're used to from XY. I'd rather see some flying or running. Dodrio racing was popular in Kanto in the anime, so something like riding one of them during a competition could be pretty awesome post-national dex.
 
Mounting had a load of potential in X and Y, but they kept the feature small and didn't exploit as much as I had originally hoped. They'd make a lot of fans happy by bringing them back full fledge in ORAS by integrating it to parts of the game like Mt. Pyre and the desert area. There are various other places they could add a mounting option to as well, and I think it could revolutionize the exploring part of these remakes and set them apart from the originals. The tropical Hoenn setting in colorful 3D will be in perfect view as you ride your mounted pokemon through the region... Sounds like a blast. :]

Yeah, if you managed to capture a Doduo you can ride it for quicker transport, though it would run off when you dismount. That, except in a larger scale, wouldn't be that hard to implement. Something like the Rhyhorn races Serena sees in the anime? That could work out too, but I don't actually feel that would be a part of Hoenn remakes though.
 
Do any of you guys remember that episode from the anime where there was a feud between two islands over Gorebyss and Huntail? It was awesome to see people riding theses two Hoenn exclusive fishies and it would be awesome to ride them ourselves in the upcoming remakes as I think these two Pokemon are often forgotten. And perhaps they could add the Island A and Island B that featured in this episode of the anime as new areas(as those unused islands in the originals annoyed me) but that's a matter for another day and another thread in fact

Uh Dodrio is native to Hoenn, it's part of it's regional dex (gals and guys please don't forget that unlike Unova Hoenn did have Pokemon not introduced in Gen III) so we don't even have to wait until we get the National Dex ;) .
I think Camerupt could be added into the desert. Maybe they'll make the desert larger, or have the bike be unable to journey through the harsh sandstorm, so if one wants to travel fast they'll need to ride a Camerupt. Though Numel may fit better as it's smaller, and seems nicer to ride on. It'll be like Hoenn's own version Skiddo.
 
Make riding pokemon FUN first, then do more of it. Bringing it back would give GF a second chance to do it right... but I don't think they will make it any better.
 
I kinda hate how riding Pokemon is slow as hell. I know it should be realistic but srsly. It's just too damn slow ;; I'm okay if they made Pokemon faster and stuff. That I would like to see.

As much as I liked the Rhyhorn part of X/Y, this is precisely what I'd like to see :) As long as they kept it realistic, so maybe riding Pokémon like Rapidash, Girafarig, Dodrio, maybe Donphan etc. then I think it could work :) I like the idea of obstacles as well - like maybe they can jump over ledges you'd normally have to move through tall grass to get to :)
