  • just gonna do some more edits, mostly on cores and finishing the megas:

This is the updated threat list with all the oras pokemons, it's still a work in progress so any suggestion or if we have missed anything, it would be really helpful if brought to our attention. Anyway archer and i have done the offensive and the defensive list respectively so far,its anything but complete but we will get it done soon.
shout out and thanks to all the battle server regulars!

Sorry for no updates, i have been really busy with my exams and was feeling a bit sick. Anyway i have update the op with what has been suggested and completed the data of all the mons. I have also added a what to use section so you can easily find out what kind of a mons of some type (wall breaker/stall breaker) people may use.
Work Pending: Fill in niche mons.
i shall write up a list and post it here later, and update the op with it if people think the list is okay.

    Edit: Niche list

  • ok so the main thing i did here was i revamped the cores part whose structure i wasn't digging, so that's done now. all this really needs is a few pokemon to finish and then some some quality control (and probably new font for the headings sry 'frijole' is uuuugly) but yeah this is pretty solid. also moved stuff to niche mon status.

Hazard Stacking: Hazard stacking cores run Stealth Rock in combination with Spikes and/or Toxic Spikes. These cores are usually more defensive due to the lack of Spikers suitable for offensive teams after the Greninja ban, but Spikes are often paired with strong Mega Pokemon like Lopunny, Charizard X, and Gyarados whose checks and counters are often ground-bound. It is important not to give these cores free turns.

VoltTurn: VoltTurn cores abuse the momentum that Volt Switch and U-turn provide to maintain a favorable game-state for the user. Some VoltTurn Pokemon are fast to maintain offensive pressure, while some are slow to grant frail attackers free switch-ins. In either case, VoltTurn teams often utilize powerful breaker Pokemon like Landorus in order to take full advantage of the pressure that VoltTurn can provide.

Steel Trapping: Steel trapping cores typically run Magnezone (Gothitelle is also effective) to remove Steel-type Pokemon, especially Scizor-Mega and Ferrothorn, in order to facilitate a sweep for attackers walled or troubled by those Pokemon. Fairy-type Pokemon are typically run with this core, especially Fairy Mega Pokemon like Diancie and Altaria. It is important to have backup checks to these Pokemon if running Scizor or Ferrothorn; some Ferrothorn users run Shed Shell Ferrothorn or Skarmory to combat these cores.

Pursuit Trapping: Pursuit trapping cores aim to remove specific Dark-weak Pokemon like Starmie, Jirachi, Celebi, and especially Lati@s to clear the way for specific sweepers. Keldeo and Landorus are the most common offensive Pokemon used with Pursuit support. These cores also benefit from shutting down teams that rely on Starmie for hazard control.

Rain Offense: Rain offense is more of a playstyle than a core, but the core of Rain teams consists of Drizzle Politoed and at least two Rain abusers. Not every Pokemon on Rain teams are designed to take advantage of weather, however. Nevertheless, Rain is useful for making Swift Swim abusers extremely dangerous. Non-weather offensive teams often struggle with Rain teams.

Sand Offense: Usually Smooth Rock Tyranitar and Sand Rush Excadrill, Sand offense provides a solid backbone for offense teams. Either Sand setter can set up Stealth Rock, while Excadrill can Rapid Spin. Excadrill's doubled Speed gives it great offensive and defensive utility alike, easing team-building. Garchomp-Mega can provide a breaker for these cores, though it is rare. Sand Rush Excadrill is the head of the beast and should be prepared for.

Overload Core: Overload cores attempt to single out specific defensive Pokemon and overpower them with offensive pressure. The most famous example of this strategy is the combination of Pinsir-Mega and Talonflame, AKA BirdSpam, which attempts to overpower Flying-type resists like Rotom-W. This usually functions by sacrificing one Pokemon to weaken the opposing team's defenses for the other, which can then sweep. Scizor-Mega + Bisharp is another example, which attempts to overload Keldeo, the most common Dark-type check on offensive teams. These cores vary widely and are very customizable, and defeating them requires strong strategic thinking in-battle.

Regenerator Core: Regenerator cores leverage their inherent survivability against opponents, which affords users a wider margin for error. Regenerator cores are very difficult to wear down and require very strong breakers to overpower them. However, with the exception of Tornadus-T, Regenerator abusers are typically very passive and can be taken advantage of.
