Talk about OS and new devolopments here. ^_^

i use linux and xp. i like xp. but not too much

XP SP2 on my computer... SP1 on most of the other computers in the house. 'cept one Redhat Linux 9 or something on the server one...

I have Mac OS X Panther, Mac OS 8.1, Windows XP and 2000. I don't like windows that much because it keeps crashing and also, security holes. X_X..

I don't like OSX 'cause I can't run it at any speed on my hardware, and I don't like Linux 'cause it's not Windows and that's how I was raised. XP

But hey, unlike most of the people who fear Linux, at least I don't click yes to everything that pops up in IE

    Or even use IE.

    =p.... PearPC = unreiable speed... ~_~

I have real G4 Hardware though... but it's old..... ~_~

I use Fedora Core 2 Linux. I haven't ran WIndows for 5 months. People, come to the light side. Use Linux or Mac. Do not fall to the dark side of Windows.
I would like to say something with the Linux option, it shouldn't be together with UNIX. Linux is not UNIX. Mac is UNIX. Windows is not UNIX. Windows is cheese. Get it? Holes. Then wait until Linux gets popular(which it will), then you would want Windows for less holes and it'll keep doing the same process over and over again.
One thing I'm surprised is that Linux is the second most used Desktop OS out there. Mac is third which I thought was second.

Yeah, Wait until Linux gets popular.
It's been around the scene for 12 years, and it'll never be the dominant OS.
    Why?
Because people are stupid. So they need something that caters to their needs as idiots, and Windows does that.

Duh! Everyone wants their idiotic needs catered!

Example: AOL(I know its not an OS!!!! XD Somebody just PMed me about that XD)
I think my point is made.

Of course, I use Windows, because I am really lazy. One day I'll join the light side, I promise.

AOL is on Mac OS X too... and counterparts of IE, WMP, and MSN... they are worse than windows counterpart... they are slow, has less features, and unstable. ~_~...

but you can run windows on a mac, with virtual PC. ^_^

=X Windows ME should be in a category of its own, so we can praise all those who have the patience (or... stupidity) to put up with it. o_o

Yeah, I know close to nothing about operating systems... I did watch my dad install Windows 2000 Pro a few weeks ago. <_<;; Anyway, that's what both computers run now. I was stuck with ME on this compy before that and 98 on the older one. =\

._. I might like to get a Mac one day, but the last time I used one it really bothered me. =\ I think I'd be too lazy to get used to it. (Although I have heard it runs graphics programs like Photoshop better... @_@)

lol.... and I used mac os x, and it has more features and it was a bit faster than a average windows PC..

The great thing about mac is that it hardly gets affected by pc viruses and spyware. ^_^

I have Win98SE at home, although it should be stable it's not. Crashes at least 3 times a day... but my parents refuse to upgrade. >.< I have stupid parents.

well, Mac OS is better than windows...

MacOSX can even replace a whole PC since it has Virtual PC...

I don't like Macs as a general rule, I grew up with Windows and every time I have to use a Mac it really annoys me.

And Linux is better than Macs and Windows. :classic: Plus it's free. Only problem is that it's not for people who can't learn three commands or to read ReadMe's and it's not for people who likes Microsoft's and third party companies who's products works on Windows programs. :'( I wish more companies port their products to Linux.

    Linux is hard.... and complicated..

Macs are easy to me because I used them first before windows...

No it isn't. Unless you use Debain or Gentoo or any distrobution like that. Something like Fedora or Mandrake are very easy to install and takes about 40 minutes. Then all you really have to do is read ReadMe or INSTALL files. Tar.gz or .bz2 are just a different compressed file like .zip. Terminal(Command Line) is where you install stuff. Read ReadMe or INSTALL files will tell you everything on how to install. Most of the time it's:

    ./configure
    make
    make install

Very, very simple. It's not hard and/or complicated, it's just frustrating at times. But that's what Linux forums are for.:D

but I cannot switch to a another operating system, and I refuse to touch linux again..

it's evil... and complicated... Like I stick to something easy like MacOS or Windows. =p

and I cannot use my programs on linux ether, so theres no use...

So MacOSX is better in my option because it's pretty stable, and pretty. ^_^
