Yeah, I'm pretty sure the title gives this one away (If not, please go back to school and learn to read). I decided to try to go with a new team to sort of "jump" into the crap metagame known as Platinum. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Oh well, so I've actually been having a lot of success with this team so far, and it seems to have a lot of "surprise" in it, but still some totally standard Pokemon as well.

    Azelf@Choice Scarf
    Hasty Nature
    Levitate
    252 SpA/216 Spe/36 Atk/6 HP
    Trick
    Stealth Rock
    Psychic
    Explosion

Pretty simple concept here: Depending on the lead, I either Trick or use Stealth Rock. On foe Aerodactyl and Azelf, I usually use Trick, as I like the insurance of a nice Focus Sash to save my butt once. Stealth Rock for Stealth Rock (Der), Psychic for the obligatory STAB, and Explosion to clean up the mess (Or cause one, you know that's very paradoxical...)

    Infernape@Life Orb
    Timid Nature
    Blaze
    252 SpA/252 Spe/6 HP
    Nasty Plot
    Flamethrower
    Grass Knot
    Focus Blast

Surprise one for those who don't know about/don't expect it. I love seeing the reaction of someone bring in a Bronzong or some other wall against it while I NP, then OHKO the wall. It's just so much fun! This version of Infernape just compliments my team so well, that it just had to be done. Salamence? Check. Suicune? Check. Vaporeon? Check. Flamethrower for STAB, Grass Knot for the likes of those bulky waters, and Focus Blast for another great STAB move (Although its accuracy is a tad shaky).

    Scizor@Life Orb
    Adamant Nature
    Technician
    252 Atk/252 Spe/6 HP
    Swords Dance
    Bullet Punch
    X-Scissor
    Brick Break/
    Roost

SD Scizor is SD Scizor. Standard one, check. Anyways, rips through the opponent like crazy. Recently I've been able to set up a Swords Dance or two for free on stupid prediction from the foe, and then just sweep away. Dumb luck, but eh, either way it kills SOMETHING. Swords Dance for the obvious Attack boost, Bullet Punch for the obvious pwnsome STAB priority, X-Scissor for secondary STAB. I'm still deciding between Brick Break and Roost (Using Brick Break now), and it seems to be really helpful for those Pokemon that wall me.

    Calm Nature
    Natural Cure
    252 Def/ 216 SpD/40 SpA
    Aromatherapy
    Seismic Toss
    Thunder Wave
    Softboiled

I'm not totally sure if you noticed this yet, but I pretty much use this thing with this set in every one of my teams :P I always have a status problem, and this thing works charms (I'm not so great with Rest Talkers XD). Best.Special.Sponge.EVAR. Seismic Toss is necessary to even cause damage with this thing, but I always seem to miss Ice Beam (But I don't want to lose Thunder Wave, the parahax chance is always nice :D). Softboiled for obvious healing.

    Timid Nature
    Levitate
    252 SpA/252 Spe/6 HP
    Shadow Ball
    HP Ice
    Thunderbolt
    Focus Blast

This thing is in a lot of my teams too =P I just love how well it revenge kills so much I always feel the need to use it =P. Shadow Ball for STAB, HP Ice for those pesky Dragons, Thunderbolt for standardness, Focus Blast for those that wall me (Steel types, I'm looking at you...).

    Gliscor@Leftovers
    Jolly Nature
    Hyper Cutter
    252 HP/216 Spe/40 Atk
    Swords Dance
    Earthquake
    Fire Fang
    Roost

I use this thing a lot too XD You know, I feel that Blissey and Gliscor really compliment each others weaknesses. +Speed for owning Ice Punch Lucario, plus after a Swords Dance I can OHKO Tyranitar with Earthquake (Sorry Vance :(). Fire Fang for Scizor, and Roost for the obligatory healing.

    Concerns:

    • Gyarados (Which I haven't seen lately :O) has the ability to wreck me. I can outspeed it with Gengar after 1 Dragon Dance, but other than that I have no answer.
    • Whatever anyone else can think of :P

I see you're enjoying the Focus Blast Infernape ;) It's a real monster when used right, and this team seems to be able to support it. One thing that stands as a weakness is Agiligross, with Ice Punch / EQ / Meteor Mash. Gengar doesn't stop it, neither does Gliscor or Scizor. Then again, very few things give it a chance to set up, so you've got a solid defense against it. Be proud, great team.

Wow, thanks a lot Vance :) I really appreciate it. Although I do see your point on Agiligross (Wait a second, who the heck still USES it? XD)

It's one of those old standard sets that people passed over, but it's starting to get more usage. Similar to Raikou, people do this because it makes them feel like they're reliving the "old days" of ADV. Eh, whatever. It's a rare threat, but a threat regardless. I've been using Roost over Brick Break on Scizor, and it has saved me a couple of times like against Vaporeon and Suicune who expected to 2HKO me with Surf. I also have been using a 34 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe version of Scizor to better come in on Tyranitar and pose a threat.

Hmm, I think I'll try both of those out :)

While you do have the ability to OHKO Tyranitar, it can also smash a lot of your team since you have no rock resist. It may not KO anything bar Blissey, but it'll sure weaken a ton of it.

CBTar is the main threat here since all it needs is Stone Edge to really harass you. (Pursuit for misplayed Gengar), so really, watch out for it.

Other than that things look really good; Gyara weak as mentioned. Use a Rhyperior to cover your Gyarados weak.

Get rid of the sp attk evs or use ice beam
Its a waste for 40 sp atk evs if your not using themAlso you might want ice beam anyway since sub Gengar walks all over non ice beam Bliss

Good point there, although Sub Gar isn't all that common. My only problem there is Seismic Toss is my best option against attackers, so I'll manage. But the 40 SpA EVs thing...yeah I missed that XD

Ah, then I can't really see a problem.
One thing that seems to get to me is that a suicide lead, when you're still using walls, could be counter preductive.

One strange concoction I built is a CB Aerodactyl with SR. SR and switch. They'll think it's a usual suicide lead, only to cop CB Stone Edges later on. If you manage to get trick scarfed, you aren't exactly shut down. You could do with SR to check certain threats and ensure certain kills, but you aren't terribly threatened by it, so Taunt isn't a necessity. Opinion?

Walls don't only give Stealth Rock, you know that, right? As for Aero, eh...it could work in theory, but with the power of a CBer, you might want to just get as much damage done as possible, considering Aero has 5 turns to live with SR up.

Um, I meant that it seemed pointless to blow a spot outside of pure Offence Teams, as you essentially have three slots to work with after the walls. It works with Offence Teams, as they need SR up at all costs and don't miss the slot when there's 5 other sweepers.

Gliscor IS a sweeper, if you didn't see. Blissey is also such a magnificent special wall, that even offensive teams use it effectively. I don't see WHAT you're implying by saying that walls like Gliscor and Blissey are useless.

I agree with Vance here. Since Aero isn't gonna like hits from common leads like T-Tar, Metagross, Azelf, and fellow Aero's, it needs a Sash as a lead to survive things like T-Tar's Stone Edge/ Ice Beam, Metagross's BP/ MM, or Aero's Stone Edge. Most of those things OHKO Aero, which means all it can do is get the rocks up. Saving it as a sweeper is most likely not gonna happen.

just wanted to point out that w/ sand boost, aero practically never gets OHKOd by ttar's ice beam.

Lol, of course they're not useless, where did you pull that from? I'm basically saying it's not that productive to nuke a slot when you only have a few sweeping slots to work with. Gliscor, being a tank, sort of makes up for that. As long as you're careful not to explode when you don't have to, you'll be okay. Now that I look at it, Trick should give your sweepers a chance to set up, so stick with it.
