Well seeing as you were never able to backtrack with consoles (can't play DS games on Game Boy Advance xD;) then I'm guessing we're unable to play 3DS games on a DS. But who knows.

Doesn't look much different to previous Paper Mario's, personally anyway.

I am not sold on the 3DS yet, as I need to see it up close and personal.

But will give it a chance.

Maybe it will be like the PS3/PS2 where they make the game for both consoles - that is if the games aren't already compatible on both DS's.
 
3DS games will just be too different to try and play them on the DS, even if they fit in the slot. 2gb games built for screens with different dimensions, you know.

I love Paper Mario's battle system. I never played SPM, and I'm sure it's good in it's own right, but I like the action elements-within-turn based battles best.

I'm getting a 3DS just for this. I'm serious, I hate 3-D, but I feel obliged to get this game.

I approve of the Chain-Chomp partner.
 
I've never owned a Gamecube or Wii so the only Paper Mario game I've played is the original. Still, if this game is anywhere near as good as the original, I'm definitely buying it.
