    ☆ Partner Search ☆

    Historically, the RPT has been more about large group text RPs, but that's not the only way to RP! It really only takes two, and a lot of people enjoy simple 1-1 RPs instead. With that in mind, we're bringing you a revamped partner search thread.

    The way this works is simple enough! Just post in here with a clear description of what you're looking to RP about and where you want to host the actual RP (a thread, Discord or via our PM system). You're welcome to use this thread to work out details between yourselves too if you want, but you can manage that end in things privately if you'd prefer.

    ☆ 1-1 Rules

    Of course, as with all things, we do have some quick housekeeping rules to go over for two-person RPing.

    1. When you find an RP partner through PC, all of PCs rules apply. Yes, even if you end up using Discord for the RP itself.

    2. You do not need to make an OOC thread if it's just the two of you. If you're going to use a thread for the RP, you can go straight to the Stage. That being said, you're still welcome to make an OOC thread for organisation if you'd like.

    3. If your RP partner is making you uncomfortable or is being inappropriate, you are not in any way obligated to keep going. Please stop and contact one of the RP mods or a site admin ASAP so we can deal with the situation.

    I hope it is ok to reply here, despite the age of the thread, as it still seems to be the indicated place to look for 1x1 partners.

    I'm honestly pretty open in terms of specific plots and interests? I'd be happy playing as either a pokemon or a human. Some brainstorming suggestions to get the ball rolling (though I am open to other ideas as well):
    -Playing out a journey of a trainer and their pokemon partner
    -Rangers handling a natural disaster
    -Scientists/researchers exploring an unknown biome/area
    -A bodyguard/knight (me) escorting an important figure (you) somewhere important, or protecting them

    About me:
    -I have 5+ years of experience with 1x1 play-by-post RP's, and am a literate writing partner. I tend to match my partner's writing length (which can be a few sentences to ~800 words), preferring a few paragraphs.
    -I am an adult and ok with Mature themes within PC rules
    -I am open to romance between characters but it is not my main interest
    -I would prefer PC DM's but do have a Discord
    -I do not hold writing partners to a deadline or expect people to reply within a given time frame. People have work/lives/etc.
     
    I realized the RP threads are a lot more dead than I thought so I am going to drop something here in case someone wants to do a 1x1 rp.

    I personally enjoy roleplaying as pokemon, whether it is one that can't talk to humans or can. I don't really have a preference for what the only person roleplay as. And honestly, in the past, it was common for me to pretty much play all the characters in the world while my partner plays their single character. I enjoyed this since I didn't feel constricted to the single character but I am okay with going about it however someone likes.

    Mystery dungeon or just the regular pokemon world or even just something different all works for me.

    I generally write sem-lit, though I haven't roleplayed properly in a few years so I might a bit rusty. I also don't really like planning my roleplays ahead of time but rather just doing what feels right in the moment, that's why I don't really like picking out a genre ahead of time either since it feels constrictive. Normally I just start with a premise and go forward from there.
    I just like to keep it low key and fun. Not too much pressure for the roleplay to play out a certain way.

    Any other info can be up for discussion. :mareepwave:

    Yeah, I haven't been very lucky either... Since I joined, I have entered 4 RP one after another (all as a Gardevoir, the first as a celebrity journalist, second as a character in a RV video game, third as a pirate captain and fourth as a private detective), and they stopped one after another...
    So, you would be for a "sandbox" RP ?

    I have a vague idea what a sandbox rp is but can you explain it to me so I am sure?
    I think I will be up for it though.

    No, you are right. I just never heard the term before and wanted to make sure I understand. I do prefer a sandbox RP so I'd understand if we aren't a good fit for each other for rps.

    Ah, no thanks. I really want to keep my roleplays chill without worrying about much so I just don't think we are compatible roleplay-wise.

    (Also, any generation of Pokemon is allowed. I just ask you describe them a bit.)
    Keep in mind not everyone has to be literate. You CAN switch between the two.
