PC Needs You!

Alternatively, we could just have an events forum, that runs all year round and covers specific events, etc... idk (yeah nevermind), I think most of the stuff suggested could probably fit into OC anyway, and that's not stopping the VIP forum from having anything.
 
To me it would seem like a Christmas Get-Together would fair just fine.. I mean, Christmas is a time where people are generally at home, not always with family, but just home to be there, and thus it seems like they might be online more. I could be wrong, but that's what I've noticed. Activity doesn't exactly die around the holidays, and I know some members enjoy spending some of their holiday time on PC. But I mean.. if something like this has already been tried, and has failed, then that's that I suppose. Although, I think it might be worth giving it a (another) shot one of these years.

It's also the Summer holidays for a lot of us. Australian schools and universities get quite a few weeks off.

Other Chat has been the traditional forum to hold events until the major events forum was made. That way, they wouldn't be scattered.

I honestly don't see a problem with a 2 in 1 Christmas x New Year event. How about this?

I make a poll in the OVP asking people would they actually take part in these events. If it gets a big reception, then you guys can discuss it.

Also, if the normal place is for OC, then why not just create a separate board for it? Unless you have some crazy, Alien Administration board, then it isn't hard to create boards.

I really think it is worth giving it another shot.

Christmas is all about fun, so why shouldn't we have an awesome Get-Together?
 
The 'Christmas bashes' before were never that great though and nothing compared to the GTs and not advertised too much (going off memory anyways)... also I never really got the Halloween thing as for instance for me Halloween just isn't celebrated here - I don't even see kids on the street wanting candy (more likely egging houses if anything). =p

I also disagree that people will be 'too busy' with family if as mentioned by others it ran from a bit before christmas until the new year. Again Halloween GT was not very feasible for me because there's no holiday for it here in Australia and instead I had a good deal of exams to enjoy at the time. -_- (My participation in it came from writing something from 1-3 am after all =p). People not having assignements and whatnot seems to be a better chance for activity if anything, and it...just makes more sense to me as well.

The Halloween event didn't effect me at all, mainly because I don't celebrate the holiday. It isn't a very big thing where I am either.

I just really hope that we can do a GT for Christmas. What if we all just set it up and organize it?
 
i have been watching your guys conversation and i think it would be a great idea to start some sor of christmas event that everyone can enjoy and that will get all of pc upbeat :D

If you are really against it, then why? Do you just not have the time to do it? If so, delegate it to us. I am sure a lot of people would love to help; myself included.
 
I see it as just, to have some competitions held in the VIP Lounge or in various places across PC. But I think 2 official GT's is enough for one year, they'll become common place if we keep holding them, therefore they'll lose their excitement.

At any rate, I think you should think up some events to be held on PC coming up to the Christmas holidays. There would be absolutely no problem in you holding them so long as they are approved by staff. So this isn't serious business to anyone who's opposing to the idea mhmmkay? So Will and Nica and anyone else getting involved should push through and get a list of events organized, then you can work from there and see what would be the best way to host them. But this is a positive idea you should definitely work on and do more often.
 
Lets see what the uppers have to say, if they agree with Gav, then fine.
We will do it that way.

I just feel there should be events going on, at one of the biggest holidays of the year.
 
The uppers will agree with it so long as the events are approved, I wouldn't worry about that to be honest. You should get the events organized, then worry about higher staff, not that they would have issue with some members hosting events around the forum.
