PC OVERWATCH EVENT PLANNING

Hi guys! Megan here. I said I wasn't going to host anything this year, but then again I changed my mind. xD I wanted to run an Overwatch event here on PC, seeing that it has gotten SO POPULAR since it was released.

Hosts.

Because Overwatch is available on PC, XBOX One, and the PS4, we cannot cross-play with each other. Meaning, the PS4 peeps will have to play with other PS4 peeps, the XBox peeps will have to play with Xbox peeps, and the PC peeps have to play with the PC peeps. please invent crossplay gaming already is2fg.

So! Because of this, I do require at least 2 hosts for Consoles. Aiden and I will be hosting the PC side (and because of my weekend availability, I might need a 3rd, but I will work something out). The console side of Overwatch is my current concern at this time, but I am not too worried about the PC side.

Times.

I can definitely do evenings to cater almost all US timezones as well as Australia timezones. That's probably when the majority of us will be playing Overwatch, but if you have any suggestions in terms of times as well as what timezones you want to cover, that would be awesome.

Emblem.

I kinda want to do a PLAY OF THE GAME type of emblem. I'm gonna get to work on that this weekend when I have the chance. I don't know what character to use it though (probably Tracer since she's on the game cover). Any ideas would also be awesome too!

Discord/Skype

I was told Discord is a hell lot better than Skype in terms of voice chatting during game. Overwatch also has that feature when you are joined in a group. We could also use that if we opt out of Discord/Skype.

CSS for thread.

My CSS skills are a little rusty (it's been YEARS since I actually did anything CSS-y). So I'll work on something simple for the event.

Games.

We can do 6v6 matches if we get enough players, or play against noobs other random players online. Overwatch has a great identification system that identifies which are our group members and which are not. So, it's pretty cool. If possible we could do challenges, such as playing as a certain character, or themed matches such as playing as a Defender character only.

Since I can't find hosts for consoles, my thinking is the event will be suited for PC players only, and not for consoles. I hardly know anyone who even plays on Console.

I'm trying to see if I can get a Discord server set up. But I am very inexperienced with the program, so I might as well stick with skype if all else fails.

CSS and emblem will be worked on tonight and posted.

It'll run throughout the whole GT, so there is no set date, really. If you can host, that would be awesome! Shawn has also stepped up to help me out so I appreciate that. I'm more likely going to be online during the day tomorrow to get some matches out of the way for PC.

A PokeCommunity Event​

Introduction

PokeCommunity is in need of heroes! Do you have what it takes to be one? Sign up at PokeCommunity?s first ever Overwatch event! This event is a casual event where team battles take place. If you have the game, why not join in for a few matches with us! Participation will grant you an emblem just for joining!

So, whether you are a badass Tracer, an awesome Reinhardt, a competitive D.Va, or a good Bastion! Bring your Mountain Dew and some Doritos and join in for a great time!

Times will vary depending on the amount of people joining the event. If we get enough people while a host is online, we will play during that time.

Things to know:

? Because crossplaying still doesn?t exist yet, we cannot put PC players with consoles together. PC players play with other PC players, XBOX one players play with XBOX one players, PS4 Players play with PS4 players.

? We will not be playing competitively for this event. This is a casual event just to meet new players and have fun.

? It is highly encouraged to voice chat during the game! Or text chat, that?s fine.

? If we have enough players, we can host a 6v6 team battle with the battle type, and location. You earn more XP that way which makes you level up quicker, that is?if you are trying to reach that dreaded L25 rank to unlock Competitive Mode.​

?Respect is a must, y?all! Whether your peers are playing with you or against you, you must respect them no matter what. Sportsmanship is key.

?No hacks. Pleeeeease no hacks. We will boot you off the group if you use any hacks.
