Yay! A new (hopefully active) battler! We need more of those. Love your theme, btw. Yeah, Chomp is uber around here, we follow Smogon's tier list specifically.

Speaking of which, _Prince_ and Xairmo, watch your back..last time we faced off in doubles, you guys made use of Chomp's OUness. :P I'ma bring the smackdown this time. XD

Yeah, I figured you follow Smogon. Hoping they come to their senses and move Garchomp back to OU soon >.>

And it is the general consensus around the Pokemon community that Garchomp is an Uber. I am actually surprised to see someone who did not know. o.o

And if you are looking at Serebii's tier list and/or Garchomp's "Pokemon of the Week" page, both of these were made while he was still in the OU Tier. And since Serebii tends to not update his older pages, his Uberness is not mentioned on either. Heh.

Well, Smogon is the authority on competitive battling. If you intend to battle competitively, then you must be familiar with their tier list. I myself do not go to Smogon's forums; I merely go there for the tier information. Likewise, with Serebii I only go there for the Pokedex. For forums, I go here, to Pokecommunity. XD

But regardless, there was already a lengthy discussion here on PC(and Smogon, for that matter) regarding Garchomp's move to Ubers. And for the record, I was against it. But that discussion is over, and I don't see it reopening any time soon.

And yes, that means this discussion is over as well. Garchomp is banned, and he shall stay that way, until Smogon says otherwise. =P
 
I agree with you gigaEmpoloen. I play with and against Garchomp and I've never had a problem with him. Nice little ice attack and he's done. I don't think he'll remain in Ubers very long, they'll drop him back down eventually.

Besides, Intimidate > Sand Veil imo, and I still prefer Garchomp over Salamence.:P

fine but if they consider garchomp uber why do they not dargonite,tyranitar,or salamence?

As far as I know, Shaymin Sky Forme and Giratina Origin Forme are both labeled as Uber right now, while the Rotom forms are OU. However, it does not really matter for this tournament, since the new forms are unusable over Wi-Fi without cheating.

Not to stir up the discussion again, but as a simple note:

Garchomp with the Yache Berry set halves ice damage. If you add Sand Veil into the equation, you get a super-charged dragon with a gigantic movepool who can avoid any attack it wants at random and takes at least 2-3 Pokemon from everyone it faces. Just keep it in ubers, it doesn't have to do well there, it just has to stay away from here. XD Use other dragons.

Speaking of which, let's see: they all have lesser stats, they all don't have sand veil, and their movepools aren't as large. That pretty much covers it.

Exactly, sky form and the other Giratina/Rotoms are not allowed to be used over wifi. If you want to use them, check out Shoddy's OU and Uber battling areas.

Salamence and Garchomp have nearly identical stats. Here's a comparison

HP: 95/108
Attack: 135/130
Defense: 80/95
Special Attack: 110/80
Special Defense: 80/85
Speed: 100/102

My personal opinion, Salamence is a much more diverse Dragon then Garchomp, capable of being a better mix attacker than Garchomp. While Garchomp has that 2 point speed advantage, Salamence also gets Dragon Dance which immediately eliminates that advantage and now has the option to throw a physical or a special attack. I've always had more trouble with, and felt Salamence was the better Dragon. I've always used Garchomp though cause he looks better. :P

But hey, sorry. Just had to get my last 2 cents in there. Didn't mean to stir the honey pot again. I'll let it alone and just use the Menace stead of the Chomper.
