PC WiFi Tournament

Well, in response to the Garchomp thing, just tell me one Pokemon that can switch into any of Garchomps attacks without being at least 2HKOd. If you can do that, I'll gladly admit you're right. You have to keep in mind though, it could be Adamant with Fire Fang, or even a ChainChomp, so Skarmory isn't safe, and neither is the likes of Tangrowth.

Now with the Skymin thing, it's Uber because it's broken like someones leg would be after they jumped off a building. It gets STAB Seed Bomb, which has an 80% chance of lowering Sp. Def, and it gets Air Slash, which we all know how deadly that is paired with Serene Grace. So yeah, I can't really tell if you were commenting on why it's Uber, but if you were, that's why.

I'll second that.

And I don't think anyone mentioned that Garchomp gets Swords Dance. Once he sets up one of them (with the fact that he gets a STABed Earthquake, something Salamence and Dragonite can't boast), very few things can switch into him. And those things that can are usually hit hard with a different attack. He's a virtually uncounterable Pokemon, and that's why he's Uber.

I've always seen Garchomp as cheap, and I'm happy the likes of Smogon finally agree with me.
 
Jolly Garchomp's Outrage even deals 73.42% - 86.26% to 252 HP / 252 Def Bold Cresselia (after a SD), potentially a 2HKO which is very impressive compared to Salamence which he has to do a Draco Meteor, then Outrage two times. Garchomp has better typing, great stats, learns the best type coverage in the game with STABs on 2 (Dragon/Fire/Ground) and is resisted by none (I am pretty for sure). Garchomp learns Swords Dance unlike Salamence, and is in a Speed tier that no other Pokemon is in (102 I think) not causing a Speed tie. It also was centralizing the metagame back then, where there was a Garchomp on EVERY team lol. It also has too much ease on sweeping, even 2HKOing Hippowdon (I think). O_O Salamence has a counter, Porygon2, which almost garantees that Salamence will always go down before it. Seriously, they are two different Pokemon, and Smogon knows how to ban Pokemon. A lot of people are actually happy he is banned lol.

Edit: Garchomp doesn't even require that much prediction, meaning it can be used by almost by anyone easily. Even Hippowdon is a bad counter since it just allows Garchomp 20% more evasion thanks to Sand Veil. A lot Garchomp have been holding Yache Berry to stop Ice Shard users. Stats also don't determine everything... Making stuff like Fire Blast VERY bad accuracy.

Edit 3: Oh, and it is resisted to Stealth Rock. XP Oh, and SpA doesn't matter if he has Swords Dance and can 2HKO even the best physical walls in the game. Salamence's Atk is only 5 points higher. Garchomp is bulkier, and can even set up a 101 Sub.

Yeah yeah. I know he's pretty beastly. Doesn't mean I can't dream and hope for the day he's back in OU =P
 
XD Thanks Wolf, Richard, and Ooka. I hate explaining the stats and figures, even though I understand them, I'm glad we have you guys. :P

And yeah Falco, actually what I miss about Chomp is that I finally started getting switch-in counters that could predict the standard sets on him, then they made him Uber (though I'm not a fan of dragon types, so I never used him.)

I'm sure Mence will come through for you plenty ^^ except when I ice shard OHKO him, XD just kidding (sort of)
 
Okay, I have finally finished my ladder stuff, and here it is below. Note that I am still lost in regards to some usernames, and I don't doubt that I've split some people into two, or perhaps even more, individuals while going through this. There are a few whom I know for certain(Volkner, Xairmo, Aurafire, Ooka, World King, Richard, Shiraishi, & Name) who have been here often enough for me to remember their name changes throughout the tournaments. But for the rest of you, sorries. So, if anyone sees that I have done this with anyone, please let me know. ^_^

Haha, lazybob5 made a run to the semis..that was when Chomp was OU, the only reason he was able to pull that out (I know him in real life; he's a good kid/great battler, but without his Chomp his team fell to pieces so he stopped battling.)

And ALEX should do well this summer too, hopefully he can jump in.

Yes, I'll be adding it to the first post once I finish it. I still have to incorporate winners of Round One, in addition to the Side-Tournies. I have all the stats collected from both, so I just have to throw it into what I already have.

My latest team is doing well on Shoddy, and I have the majority of them EV trained already, so we'll see how long that ladder standing lasts XD

lol Tourney 2 and 3 sucks for me, I didn't even battle. If you remember what happened in tourney 3, that was funny in a way. lol
 
Yes, I remember what happened. You "seemed like avoiding to a certain someone," as it says it your sig. And due to the ruckus that occurred as a result, I ended up giving you a free round in Tournament #4. =P

Though that incident has given me greater justification in DQ'ing people by Default. Which is good, as if I haven't been doing that, we'd still be waiting for Alex, Xairmo, World King, and Dark_Azelf to get their Tournament #5 battles done right now. :P
 
Well, if I can manage to whip up the Tournament Rankings thread, all we need is points decided on per round of this tournament (I came up with a point system, I'll PM it to you later) and we can make PC's Official Tournament Rankings.

We're also looking to get that thread created/merged with the Hall of Fame and the PC Wifi Ladder and hopefully get said merged thread re-stickied. If the new combo of staff can give us that, I'd love them mucho. ^^ It's really not much to ask so..I don't see the problem.
 
Wanting to enter Tourney #8...Also, yes, I do still have the Adamant, Shiny, Flygon to give as a donation prize for this tourney.
 
So, my placement is 4-5-6? (Since mathematically I'm tied for 4-5-6).

Not too bad, if I do say so myself.

I guess I'll get back into the groove and boost myself up come the next tournament. ;-)
