PC WiFi Tournament

Smogon lists the 5 in brackets above other NFE's but gabite is still in NFE so I think u should just leave those 5 as banned. Also maybe for the round after this u could add little cup in addition to NFE.
 
Well, the thing is, those five are all in higher tiers because there is a noticeable difference between them and their evolutions:

Pikachu can use Light Ball, whereas Raichu can't.
Trapinch is the only Pokemon in his family to have the Arena Trap ability.
Scyther is Bug-Flying with greater Speed than his Bug-Steel evolved form.
Vigoroth is not hampered by Slaking's Truant ability.
Porygon2 has greater Defences than Porygon-Z.

In my opinion, this doesn't make them any stronger than their fellow unevolved Pokemon. Furthermore, there are many NFE's who are as such simply because they are merely weaker versions of some of our cookie-cutter OU's. Chansey, for example. And Haunter, XD. I think these two would be a fair match for any of the five I listed above. =P
 
Haunter maybe not so much but chansey is also above NFE by smogon. The other's differences between evolutions help but they are for the most part somewhat competitively viable. Also clamperl with deapseetooth is another one of these things.

actually Chansey, Porygon 2 and scyther are OU making them more competitively viable then Raichu, Huntail, Gorebyss, and Slaking

And those three are all UU on Smogon. =P

Well, it's late so I'm not doing it now, but sometime tomorrow I'll make a little list of those unevolved Pokemon not in the NFE tier. With those two new additions I currently have seven, XD.

As for whether they'll be allowed or not, I suppose not. I mean, in my counter-argument I went and mentioned the UU Chansey. XDD

hey about the sleep clause.... For a double battle dark void would put both pokemon to sleep, and i know only darkai learns that... But i was wondering if one used a smeargle with dark void would that be legal?
 
Just to say it is legal in the Pokemon World Championship Regionals that are going on now. I saw the strategy used by the winner. :/
 
Smeargle using Dark Void violates the standard sleep clause...It also seems like a rather cheap thing to do, but it's up to Zam I guess.
 
It may not violate the Sleep Clause, as you could use the "no other choice" argument. I suppose it's comparable to getting Encored on Hypnosis, which is already mentioned in the clauses in the first post. And that, for your information, is allowed.

Though on the other hand, there is more of a choice in this case. You could just teach him Spore, after all. =P

Therefore, yeah, I wouldn't consider it fair, really. So I'll make a quick decision and say that it's banned due to Sleep Clause. Though, like all things regarding standard competitive rules, if a higher power(ie. Smogon) deems it legal, I will as well.

Put this code in your Platinum video viewer and watch that finalist use the strategy in an official tournament. I mean, I really don't care what happens, because in official battles, things such as Tyranitar, Celebi, and Jirachi are banned. Just saying it's legal there. xD
 
If they come down to OU that is...

I'd rather not see Garchomps and Latios galavanting around without counters. And Manaphy is pretty much broken in the rain with Tail Glow and Hydration.
 
I don't think Latios will go to OU. Anyways, Zam I would like to donate to the Tournament.
