I wouldn't really call your profile, "feminine" per se. The colors may have been feminine individually, but together, the overall deep tones of the colors lose that feminine feel. When I think "feminine", I think nice, bright tones, while at the same time are not overpowering. Aizuke pulled this off quite nicely. I'd like to think that my profiles also share these qualities.
 
Deep color? That's out of my league.
I was just trying out my luck with colors I blended together. Honestly, I tried to make it look colorful while sticking to pink. I don't know how I got blue there.
Also Aizuke abused (maybe that wasn't the best term..) the fact it's VB default, so she made colors similar to those in the background so it looked really good. That's what I think at least, I really liked it personally.

Maybe I should do something more basic next time.. or I should ask my brother for help.
 
Congrats to both of the winners! You guys did a great job, as did everyone who participated. I must say, and with no ill intentions, I'm shocked that Igiko didn't place. I thought the wood/paper combination and the colors she ran all meshed well with each other; to a degree that I would have never been able to achieve, anyhow.

I can confidently say that if I had entered today, I probably wouldn't have even placed, much less win like I did with much dumb luck last year. Ahhh, and here's looking forward to the next exciting contest. Who's hosting that one?
 
I agree with you on the wood and paper combination. One of the better use of BG images this contest for things other than gradients. The colors were nice, but I thought that the purple stood out far too much against the yellow and other colors of the images. Just my 2 cents.

Oh well, I'll try again on the next contest. Maybe I should have stayed away from a Death the Kid theme, he's so plain xD I'll use more colors next time.

But yeah, I'm surprised Igiko didn't place. But 'grats to the winners anyway, your entries were awesome : D

Congratulations everyone, i luvd ur proofiles. This is my first time entering as well so it really is surprising. And to all that have lost not been in the Top 3, just try next time and Good luck. make some pretty proofiles.

I agree with you completely, but I kinda like having a modest colors with one that jumps out at you. I think it adds depth :Da... BUT YOU'RE RIGHT, it is a turn off for most people v_v

Thanks for everyone who voted, and congrats to all the place holders. There were some pretty awesome entries.

Quite frankly I did not know about the VB default skin, I just like the colour blue, haha.
