what's the worst instance of you being caught out for lying?

I once tried to convince my mum that an embarrassing photo of me as a toddler was actually of my sister. It was very clearly not my sister in that photo. Also, my mum was the one who took the picture in the first place.

when I was really young, I told people I was allergic to ginger (I hated ginger a ton back then and I would say that so they wouldn't give me the freaking ginger) and my neighbor(who didn't know I was allergic) gave me some ginger. I'd spat it out immediately and made a fuss saying how I was allergic to ginger & he was all confused "aren't you supposed to have an allergic reaction??"
