Suggestion: Petition for Perminatly Setting Your Font For Post's

    This here is a petition that you may post to have your vote cast in. The petition is for Perminatly Setting Your Font For Post's. It is basicaly for people who are tired of having to change their font everytime they make a post. What i propose is that you put an option in the Control Panel to allow members to make their post's always the same font. If you feel this is a good idea then please post saying your with it, if you disagree and think it should be kept the same also post saying why.

    I disagree with you, unfortunately. I've been a member since New Years 2008, and since that day I've made nearly every single post in size one font. It's just a huge habit now do type size=1 every single post, even those where I have to use size two. Last night, for example, I made a long post in the role model thread. I like to make my font the norm for those posts, as I feel that it'll put a strain on people's eyes to read a long post in such small font. I posted my response and read it over, only to see that I accidentally put the close tag for size. If we were to have the permanent font settings, I'd find that it'd be incredibly difficult to conform to not posting the tags around my post. It's now natural for me to post the size=1 and /size things around my post and I don't think it'd be easy to change that.

    Another thing, I don't know if it would be totally fair to have a permanent setting for fonts. There's only a fraction of the forum that uses a different font than the norm, and there'd be an addon for a minority. There are other things that a larger percentage of the forum has requested and have been denied. Iono. It really depends on the situation, but it comes down to the same principles in the end.
     
    Everyone is entitled to an oppinion. Well maybe people dont change font because of the fact that they cannot be bothered with the hassle of changing it. Maybe if there was tags for the font as there is size it wouldnt be such a problem. But fair enough you will know a lot more than me :)
     
    It's good to know we have a petition for something that may be impossible to make happen :/

    I vote no: the default colours, size and font should be enough to keep everyone happy.
     
    Okay well i dont like the way you adress people maybe you could be a little more politer. And thats another one that bites the dust. :/
     
    I also vote no.

    I don't really use font sizes, different fonts, and colors very often in posts, but when I need to, I'll add the tags around it.
    It doesn't bother me one bit.
     
    Whenever something like this is suggested, the admin(s) have to find an existing modification to vBulletin to make it happen, or write the modification anew. I thought I'd add that for perspective.

    I'm sure it would be useful for people that do feel they have to change their font every time, but I've never felt the urge myself.
     
    A petition for default font customization abilities? I don't think petitions work on forums where the majority of the decisions of how the forum is run are laid upon a select group of staff (being higher staff). That said, I really don't see what would be so wrong with it being added, but I don't really see the point of it at the same time when you can do it yourself in the posts. Is there really a need to be lazy and make the format of your posts be the same by default? I don't really see the point. I'm indifferent, regardless, however.
     
    Since you're new here I'll tell you how PC works when it comes to these sort of things.

    We don't do "petitions", we don't do "polls". And even if enough people has said "I want it" it doesn't mean they'll get it. Like it or not the Staff are the ones who run the forum, if we see this being something that helps PC then we'll add it (or open it up for talks among the members, such as the "User Ranks??" thread here in CQ&F), if not then... yea. Nothing wrong with bringing up an idea. But going around and starting a petition will get you nowhere.
    And if you want to keep talking about this, use your other thread. But for now...
