October 2016 Dev Update
Man it's been a while, I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet as the content of the post should speak for itself!
Today we're presenting a Development Update regarding our release model/schedule, a screenshot, and some new concept art! So enjoy.

Hi, my name is Gav, Game Director on Pokémon: Phoenix Rising. I have dedicated roughly seven years of my life to Pokémon: Phoenix Rising, however, these were not seven straight years of constant development. Much of that time was spent learning and ultimately developing an idea into a game. The team behind the game now have some of the brightest minds and kindest hearts that I could have ever hoped to work alongside. Truthfully, there would be no game without them. It has been a privilege to collaborate with these people from all over the globe.
With that, myself and each member of my team leads a life of other ambitions and commitments. Each member of the team has the permission to input their contribution to any aspect of development, not just their own niche. This is why I've always upheld an open-door policy with my team; everyone is asked to donate the time that they want to, time that they can afford, not time that I demand. We're working on Pokémon: Phoenix Rising bit by bit, in our free time, with love and dedication. Not money and targets. It is that philosophy and that environment I want to express internally, and ultimately I think it will pave way for a hand crafted project for fans to enjoy.
It's time to be realistic about our future, we need to be honest with our followers and ourselves. Pokémon: Phoenix Rising will release when it's ready.
We have thought quite a bit on a number of factors that could affect the future of our game. With the onset of 2016 we have all seen how takedowns have rattled the cages of fan game developers and introduced many questions for us. We do not wish to step on the toes of the giants we love, and so we want to do right by the franchise we pay homage to. As a team we came together and discussed the topic of a release window and decided we needed to adjust how we plan to deliver the game to our followers, both as a reflection of the current climate of takedowns as well as giving players the chance to experience the release of Pokémon Sun & Moon.
We are excited to announce today that we will be adopting an "Early-Access" release model. With this model, comes the fact that we will be not be announcing any official release date until we're sure the game is ready.
We are increasing the number of Episodic adventures within the main game to narrow the wait for something playable. Instead of two Episodes, there will now be Three. When Episode One of Pokémon: Phoenix Rising is released we will be offering frequent updates, improvements and additional content to the game rather than simply adding "big" infrequent updates that may be months apart. We will be asking you, the players, for your feedback on new content and how we can make the game more enjoyable for you. Listening to your suggestions will be extremely important, we want you to help us shape the game and so we hope to be active and attentive within the community to take your feedback on board. New Episodes will always be the meatiest content addition, but we hope that by adding new small quests, features and changes will help sate our followers while anticipating new Episodes.
It is our hope that this will lead to a stronger relationship between the developers and our followers. We believe it will inevitably lead to a much more polished product, that gives more user satisfaction in knowing they helped shape Pokémon: Phoenix Rising to become an enjoyable, hand-crafted experience. As we now put our heads down and delve back into development; we hope that you will respect our wishes to focus on creating the game without the pressure of a set release date (for now). Expect our Social Media to continue to have less frequent updates while we polish the release, but as always, we're here, we're working and always happy to hear from you all. We hope you enjoy today's reveals too, we're excited to show off a brand new screenshot as well as official art for Rivals Perrin and Carmen.
