Picky Trainer

I'm picky trainer, I often save the game before run into grass for catching Pokemon, and load the game if the Pokemon that I just get not have good Nature or IV. And I do the same when obtaining Pokemon too, for example when obtain Starters, Eevee, Dratini.
But, I'm not become Picky if the Pokemon is hard to find, for example: Feebas, Lati@s.

The question is:
Are you picky when you catching or obtaining Pokemon?
What is the reason that make you become picky?
-- it could be because of IV/Natures, Ability, Gender, Shiny, etc.

The disscusion topic:

The Advantage and Disadvantage of being picky trainer

Yes, do you think being picky trainer is beneficial or not? maybe because you become picky and get some strong Pokemon your journey is become easier. but, maybe you think get any Pokemon is just the same, you still can beat the game easily with any Pokemon, and you think become picky is just wasting time.

I sr when it comes to getting my starter for a non-neutral nature, cause I'm not going to get another one til I can breed with a suitable father if it's female or worse, a ditto if it's male

Are you picky when you catching or obtaining Pokemon?: Yes, I am
What is the reason that make you become picky?: IVs and nature, mainly (ability if possible).

I'm not really picky, only since i recently found out my playthrough reuniclus had Overcoat, i've become very picky about abilities

I'm picky in some ways, not picky in others.
I'm picky because I do take the time to hunt for good IVs. Good for me is above 20, sometimes I am more strict and go 25. I also look for all of the stats being high, not just the ones I intend to train. A little extra defense on that sweeper goes a long way.

When it comes to the pokemon's species, I am quite the opposite of picky. I want to train way more pokes than you can fit in one box, so I can put together any type of team I feel like. It's a massive undertaking, but I have nothing but free time.

I'm picky when it comes to catching Pokemon. I usually aim towards my favorites or the ones I want in my Party.

What is the reason that make you become picky?
Usually the genders. I wanted a male Pidove so I can evolve it to the male version of Unferzant. I always go for a female starter. and so on. :P

1.
At certain times, I am.

2.
Its not mainly IVs or Nature, its mainly gender. I usually end up having teamful of female Pokemon by the time I've finished the game.

Edit: The Advantage of being picky trainer
Er... Having a teamful of female Pokemon? I really don't see any advantage to my team.

Yes, the have to meet certain qualifications for me to want it :>

What is the reason that make you become picky?
Just because I rather have stronger, good natured, good EV'd Pokemon.

To me finding a Pokemon is like making a friend. A person should always be kind to the friends they have, and accept new friends regardless of their faults. If you're super specific on what kinds of Pokemon or friends you make, then you might as well be shopping for them at the mall. And what good is a friendship if it's based off of a credit card?

I'm rather picky with what Pokemon I catch, both in what Pokemon I catch and what nature they are. I can't really be picky about IV's except when breeding, and there's been more than a few instances of me getting bad IV's on my in-game team.

The advantage to being picky is that I use Pokemon I'm comfortable with and my stats get a slight boost from being of a beneficial nature.

If I'm looking for a Pokemon and it's a girl I'll run and start looking again, or if I get one with a bad nature then I'll run and start looking again. So I guess I am quite picky haha.

Yes.

Certain Pokemon need to be caught with a certain gender. Like, why do female Machops exist? I'm new to the whole perfect battle Pokemon thing so I've started getting Pokemon with certain Abilities and Natures too now. Not searching for perfect IVs, I only breed those =]

The Advantage and Disadvantage of being picky trainer.
An advantage is that you can get your Pokemon to be the best it can be, when it comes to Nature/Ability/IV so you can do well in online battles and that damn Battle Subway/Frontier as a whole. The good thing about getting Pokemon with a specific Gender is that you can be fine calling your Roserade Rosie as opposed to Phil. :)

Or perhaps... RosieODonl.

I'm a pretty picky trainer I think. But only when it involves Pokemon I actually use for my team. And I'm mainly concerned about their natures and gender; EVs, IVs don't really matter too much to me.

With my pickiness, I don't think I have an advantage or disadvantage. But I just like having their natures and/or genders kind of match their "profile"...like the description of their behavior and such.

Are you picky when you catching or obtaining Pokemon? Kind of, yes.

What is the reason that makes you become picky? I don't bother with IV's or Natures. As for shinies, forgot about them, There'll be a cold day in hell before I'm catching one. The only thing that makes me picky is Gender. It's ridiculous having a female Machamp or Conkeldurr. It just doesn't seem right. Another reason to be picky because of gender is if a Pokemon has a different design based on it's gender so I usually pick the gender of the Pokemon with the better design.

For the most part, I'm really not picky. The most I ever do is match natures, usually. Even then, if it's taking too long to find a beneficial nature, I'll go with something second-rate or I'll even give up entirely with finding a good nature and end up with Hardy or something. :P

Occasionally I will get it in my head that I have to have a Timid something-rather and that the something-rather has to be female. And then I hate myself for that a week later when I've got 5 boxes of something-rathers, only two of them are Timid, and neither of them are female. :P (It's even worse when there are multiple abilities! I don't have the patience!)

Are you picky when you catching or obtaining Pokemon?
Not often but if I want a certian Pokemon I can be picky.

What is the reason that make you become picky?
Sometimes I want a certian nature or gender and if they have an item I will catch them hopefully holding that item . Just like the time I spend over 2 hours trying to find a Adamant Male Cubone with Rock Head holding a Thick Club
