    Pikachu's Rad Surf Comp!
    Use Control Pad to Surf Rad!​
    Celebrate Pok?mon20 by competing for glory in one of the best mini games ever in one of the best games ever, Pok?mon Yellow's Pikachu's Beach!

    Rules:

    This event runs from today until 11:59pm BST on 21st July.
    You can play with either the original Game Boy Colour game or the 3DS Virtual Console version.
    Scores must be proved by photo. (Take a photo of the hi-score screen as displayed on the Summer Beach House's printer.)
    You may update your entry as many times as you like.

    Prizes:

    Everyone who enters will receive this participation emblem.

    Instead of taking a photo you mean? Yeah, as long as it's of the hi-score screen, then that's fine! :)
    You should update that to the rules.

    Two questions:
    Is using an emulator allowed?
    Is the host eligible to win? Asking this because you have the top score for now and in most of these events, host is ineligible to win.

    Yes the host is eligible to win. It's up to each host and the type of event that is being run. In this case no advantage could be gained by being host.

    I understand but then this fun event suffers from lack of players because the Surfing Pikachu has always been hard to get without using Gameshark and the VC version of Yellow is the only way to play Pikachu's Beach without it. It's hard to believe anyone buys Yellow from VC just for this event.

    One fair option is to have 2 categories, one for those who play the official games and another one for emulator players.

    I wouldn't expect anyone to buy it just for this event but many people do already have it.

    It's just my personal stance but I don't want to promote emulators.
