They was an eerie silence for a few minutes filled with nothing but the flickering flames of the rotting corpses. It was a rather disgusting sight, but Penny had put up with it for a while. However, she was forced to look at the sky every few seconds just to clear her mind of the image. Unfortunately, the skies bore another. And this one was capable of fighting back. To Pokemon, a Flygon and a Drifblim heading towards them, and neither seemed in a good mood. Yui seemed to have noticed them too.
"I'll take the Drifblim and you take the Flygon?" she asked.
Penny nodded her head twice, and waited a few seconds in case Yui wanted to clamber off of Rook, who had quickly dropped that short gap between him and the ground. "
Okey dokey. Rook, to the skies!"
At her words, the Salamence began to heavily beat his wings again, which caused quite a large amount of the bonfire to cripple and die, but as soon as the two were airborne it burst back into life. Of course, the fire was the least of Penny's worries now, as she wrapped her arms around Rook's neck tightly to avoid falling off. Soon, they had stabilised and were at eye-level with the Flygon. It glared at Penny and Rook with a surprising degree of hatred, and its wings shivered slightly. This momentary peace was brought to an end though, as the Flygon opened its mouth, and its whole body began to emit a ghastly green glow. Penny knew this move, and if it weren't for her grabbing Rook by the head and then leaning to the side (thus causing the dragon to strafe) they would have been hit by the bright-green spray that made Dragonbreath. But the attack was side-stepped, and Rook glared back at the combatant.
"
OK!" Penny yelled. "
Now, use ZenHeadbutt!"
Rook burst forward, slamming his head – now enveloped in purple light – straight into the body of the Dragon/Ground type, causing it to reel back in pain. But still, it swung around Rook and sunk its jaws into the bladed wings of the Ditto-gone-Salamence, a Crunch if Penny was not mistaken, and move learnt by its prevolution. Rook flailed wildly, soon knocking off the foe and then spraying an array of cinders into the enemies face. The attack wasn't powerful, but it wasn't meant to be, as Rook then pulled up one of its claws and raked it down the creatures face.
Rook roared deafeningly, and then flung a few more cinders at the foe. "
Salamence!"
ooo
Cal took a sparing glance out of the shop window, and his view immediately turned to the skies. A Salamence and a Flygon duelling to the death, both obviously furious with eachother. Callum was rather glad now that he had stayed hidden. If not, it would have been Keldia duelling against one of them, and considering the two's condition – even if they had just been fed – was not the greatest. But still, Cal felt himself being drawn outside, even if only to get a better look. Gently pushing open the door, he peered up into the sky. An array of lime-green Dragonbreath attacks and the dazzling purple of ZenHeadbutt truly was a magnificent sight. If only he could have enjoyed it longer.
