Playing DS games on Wii U Virtual Console

I've played a few games on the Wii U Virtual Console and found them fine, or with Pokémon Pinball, found the experience much better due to the larger screen. Being a huge Pokémon Ranger fan I've wanted to replay my favourite instalment, Guardian Signs, for a long time but haven't wanted to reset my save file or fork out for a second copy. So was I was really excited when it was released on the Virtual Console for the Wii U at a very decent price and downloaded it. I was forgetting that it was made for dual screens though and am finding it quite difficult to play due to the small area it takes up on screen. The DS screen setting looks really attractive but I don't think I'll be able to continue playing with it :( I'm going to give the other options a go but I'm not sure they'll suit either.

So my question is, do you think the DS titles are suited to Wii U VC and if you play any what screen setting do you choose?

90% of DS games I'd rather play on just a XL DS. It's too natural having both the screens just a border away, and holding them in one unit. :P
