I agree, I like the trainer games a lot too. However, Mystery Dungeon games are up there too. The Ranger games are all right.

The trainer games are... Wonderful.
However, the Mystery Dungeon games just have a truly magical quality about them. Their storylines are beautiful, the soundtracks are amazing, and no matter how many times I play them they still make me cry. I prefer the Mystery Dungeon games. =3

The main series games are the only reason I have have anything to do with Pokemon. They have great music, and they're probably some of the most deep strategy games I have ever played.
If only the show and spinoff games were left, the community of Pokemon fans would be almost exclusively between six and ten years old.

The main games. They usually have the most features implanted in them, lovely, non-repetetive soundtracks, and, overall, just have more to bring to the table.
However, I do adore both of the spin-off games, and they're amazing for a change of pace. Sometime it's nice to get into the story of PMD2, or not have to grind or button mash with Ranger.

PMD, you are the Pokemon, not the trainer. The trainer games are nice RPG's to play, but get boring after the E4.The Ranger games are fun, but get annoying at times.
