I've seen people post links to forums in threads, and all they got was the link removed and a warning, surely it should be the same for PMs

Surely yes, but we usually ban if it's repeated numerous times. yoh just went under the wrong impression that we ban anyone who posts a URL.

Some people (like me) are more protective of such unsollicited PMs and other messages. They feel that this is a sort of intrusion, as if they have something (which they may not want) being shoved right into their faces. This is why we have things like spam filters, popup blockers, and such. Besides, such PMs, I believe, are a violation of the rules.

At least you explained it, and for that I respect you, just yelling bout the guy and giving no actual explination or avoiding questions asked gets this thread no where ?.?

If you break a rule you get a warning. Break the same rule again and get a temporary ban. Simple at that really..if you wish to continue breaking the rules, especially the same rule, then you're inevitably going to be temp banned if not fully banned :/
Advertising forums via PMs and posts goes against PC rules so the member would be warned. If they still continued to advertise then they would be banned.
