Points distribution

Let's talk numbers.

We already agreed on having a threshold for points and that there will be 3 tiers for events. Those 3 tiers are following
  • Daily events like CAH would give away small amount of points each day
  • Bigger events would give mediocre amount of points when they end
  • The strongly competitive events would give the most points at the end of GT

There will also be our 24hours events, that will give away points/buildings. I think we can change those on a run as will be needed.

So now we have to decide on following: How many points there will be total? How many points will each tier give away? At what points will we give away a building? How many buildings will we give away in total?

I think 2 000 points is pretty reasonable number that, if I remember correctly, was okay to reach. I think giving away a building for each 150-200 points should be optimal, if we go with 50/150/250 for each tier. That's about 10 building during the whole GT. Giving away "special" building for 500/1000/1500/2000 points reached could also work.

Lastly I would love to open the discussion for something that has been mentioned on discord: Since teams will have a choice between multiple buildings each time, we could lock some buildings as a rewards for certain events. The way I imagined it would be for example in "Choose your own adventure" event, there can be some choices that will unlock a building for both teams. Or in CAH, the winning team each day will unlock one building. I hope it's clear what I mean.

Some of the special 24 hour events could unlock buildings, but I think that other events should absolutely just be point rewards so that things don't get too complicated. I'm thinking that the thresholds probably should be something we work out after we work out how many points we give out per tier. For example, if we did it as 100 for daily events, 200 for middling and 300 or the big GT-round ones that would make the thresholds for earning buildings different than if we gave out points at half that rate.

I just want to voice that I'm still on board with this method. I think though, that instead of having options every time, maybe we make the 500/1000/1500/2000 milestones the ones with the multiple choices so we can optimise and not create too much extra work. If a team goes over the 2000 milestone, we can also just then loop back around so they can start collecting the missed buildings.
