Event: Poké Poké Literature Club!

Alrighty, so I finished reading The Black Spectacles a couple days ago! Or well, listened to an audiobook reading on Youtube as my library doesn't have a copy lol. I think the premise of poisoned chocolates and the person who tried to find the culprit but died is an interesting premise and there have been some cool twists and turns. While listening, I made some notes on important plot points!

However during the Second Part I felt there's a bit much of explanation/argument over the show and I was kinda spacing out until a few revelations around Chapter 13. Things did picked up again around Chapters 16 and 17, then there was a huge explanation of the mystery in the final chapter. I'm still conflicted over the last few paragraphs's ending haha. While I'm also a bit mixed over how Everlyn Hardcastle wrapped up, I felt it was a bit faster pace than Black Spectacles and I enjoyed Everyln's main character more. Still Black Spectacles is a neat selection there!

Finished a few days ago too!

I liked it. Only issues for me were that some words I didn't understand were used (either 'words of the time', or just words I have never really heard making it hard to visualize certain things), and sometimes the over-explanations lasted for ages. My brain started drowning some things out at some point when those things occurred. Altogether though - I probably give this one a 7.5/10. Love me my murder mysteries! I couldn't tell who I thought the culprit was since they kept trying to make me believe it was someone else, so the ending was a bit of a surprise!
