    We figured the tournament would go more smoothly if the sign-ups were held before the Get-Together. xP


    Tournament Rules


    ☆ First and foremost, abide to the PokeCommunity Forum-wide Rules. Otherwise you're uncool, man.
    ​

    ☆ You MUST have the program Shoddy battle before you sign up. If you don't have Shoddy Battle, you can download it here. It is an online battle simulator. You will need to create your team first by using the team builder (it's really easy, select your Pokemon, punch in its EVs / IVs, and select the other stuff and you're good to go!).

    ☆ The following clauses are in effect throughout the match:
    Sleep Clause: No more than one Pokemon should be asleep on the same team. Exceptions include Pokemon that put themselves to sleep using REST, and if a Pokemon is stuck in a situation where you have no other choice but to put the opponent to sleep (Examples: Effect Spore, Encored Hypnosis)

    Evasion Clause: The use of attacks that tamper with a Pokemon's evasion or accuracy is prohibited (Examples: Double Team, Sand-Attack). Exceptions may include Acupressure and Metronome, which may alter evasiveness and accuracy by chance.

    OHKO Clause: Moves that always OHKO the opponent when the move connects are not to be used. Those moves include Fissure, Sheer Cold, Horn Drill, and Guillotine.

    Species Clause: No using two of the same Pokemon on the same team (Example: Having two Salamence on the same team is prohibited).

    Hax Item Clause: Items that rely on luck to work are prohibited. (Examples: Items like King's Rock, Quick Claw, Focus Band, Scope Lens, etc. are banned)

    Timed Battle: Each person will be given 5:00 for the whole match to pick their next move. You gain more time when you select your move. This clause is to prevent people from stalling out the opponent by not doing anything.

    ☆ The team that you enter with must NOT contain any uber Pokemon. This means that you cannot enter this tournament with any of the following:

    Mewtwo
    Mew
    Wynaut
    Wobbuffet
    Lugia
    Ho-oh
    Latios
    Latias [w/ Soul Dew]
    Groudon
    Kyogre
    Rayquaza
    Deoxys
    Deoxys [ATTACK]
    Deoxys [DEFENSE]
    Deoxys [SPEED]
    Garchomp
    Dialga
    Palkia
    Giratina
    Giratina [ORIGIN]
    Manaphy
    Shaymin [SKY]
    Darkrai
    Arceus
    ​
    Shaymin in land forme is still allowed, as well as Latias if it isn't holding the Soul Dew.


    ☆ All battles are to be held on Shoddy Battle on Smogon's Server. PokeCommunity's server has an unreliable host, not to mention updates for Pokemon's new Platinum formes aren't there yet.

    ☆ If two participants conclude the match with conflicting stories, both will be disqualified.

    ☆ If one participant is unable to battle for a certain round, they will be disqualified and their opponent will advance. If both are found to be unavailable, both will be disqualified and the opponent in the next round gets a free pass. Note: Under the circumstance that your opponent is a no-show, you must post here notifying us. Otherwise, we will just assume you both are no-shows.

    ☆ The tournament will be a 16 man elimination. Once you're out, you're out.

    Time Zone: Whatever the Eastern Time Zone is (GMT -5?), not like it really matters since I'm always online lol.


    Also, do we really have to play with timed battle? I hate to be really nitpicky but the whole purpose of it is not to have players stall matches, and no one is going to do that anyway. Meanwhile, all it does is rush a guy lol...

    But w/e, hope I can advance past Round 1 if a little luck (a lot of luck) is on my side lol

    5 minutes is a lot of time though, even for D_A. XD

    Fine, I guess you don't have to do the Timed Battle because you win if they run out of time. :[
     
    I figured I ask this. If Smogon votes on the latest OU suspects before this get-together (I don't know when either will happen tho lol), will the ban list stay the same, or will we go by the newest edition of the tier? I mean, we will all have to adapt to any changes (besides maybe Latios) so I think it's pretty significant.

    The ban list will stay the same from this day until the end of the Get-together. It would be unfair because people would need time to adapt to the changes and make changes in their team.

    The Get-together is August 21-24; it's not much time = not much chance of happening during the get-together.

    Guys, let me remind you that eastern USA is on EDT (daylight savings), which is GMT -4. @_@
