Pokémon CAPTURED Version [PG-14]

The slow Slakoth inched forward, obviously unhappy with being pressed to fight. Why did it have to be now... I'm so hungry. But maybe if I beat this Pokemon, Rudy will give me a berry! This realization, which took a moment for the Slakoth to grasp, motivated the Slakoth to do his best. It was blue, with a rather big head, and a serious look on its face. He looked at his opponent, trying to analyze the best way to beat him. Probably getting some inspiration from Psi, he supposed. He hadn't done this sort of thing before, but it was worth a try!

The Slakoth stared into the serious and almost sad eyes of the Bagon and let out a long and tiresome Yawn.

He had done it with the bug thing before, why wouldn't it work now? The Slakoth was quite proud of itself, and stared back at his trainer, giving him the most dopey and stupid smile. His eyes closed. He was tired now, but it was the perpetual tiredness he felt when doing these sorts of rigorous activities. He had learned not to fight it, for that would make him even more tired then he felt now. It possessed his limbs, and slowly he slumped down, experiencing the effects of Truant. He half-closed his eyes, eyeing the opponent, but not quite caring as much as he had hoped. Of course, he was still hungry, and his belly let out a rumble, agreeing with him. He hoped he was going to get some food soon.

((OOC: I will try my best to keep up the energy of the battle, but unfortunately, I will not be able to post for a minimum of 4 hours after I post this. Hopefully I don't delay the pace of the battle, and I apologize for any inconveniences I may or will cause from this.))

((OOC: It's alright, I'm happy if there's at least one post a day in this RP overall ;) We don't have to rush it, that's only bad for those who can't be online every day.))

"Your pokémon is using Yawn!" Caleb told Rudy.

Rudy had thought of Slakoth's big, sharp claws when he sent it forward... but the attack Slakoth used first was a huuuuge yawn. Slightly disappointed, Rudy stared at the pokémon as it slowly turned its head towards him and smiled. That sight forced Rudy to smile as well though, a pokémon that nice didn't deserve to be scorned. And maybe that Yawn would work on Bagon?

Slakoth seemed awfully tired after that sole attack though, and that was another reason for Rudy to be annoyed, but Caleb put a hand on his shoulder. "Slakoths are like that," he said, as if he knew what his son was thinking. "Just wait and see."

Psi watched all this interestingly from the transparent top of his pokeball. The slakoth, which he was mutually friends with, sent a huge yawn at the blue pokemon. Psi shrugged. He was sleepy, and that yawn made things look kind of blurry and... And.. It was a strong yawn... Psi sharpened his mind. Stay awake! This was to be very interesting, or so he thought. Psi reclined a bit backwards, and glanced at desert. "So, got any popcorn?"

[OOC]
I thought we were out of our pokeballs....
Whatever; guess I can worm my way out of addressing that.

[IC]
"I was wondering on that myself."

Desert had never heard the trainers in 111 talk about popcorn, likely because of the desert. He noticed that humans had many interesting inventions to thier credit, though, and was intrigued by the mention of "popcorn".

[OOC]
Sorry, I'm in the middle of a Black Ops session.

Eurus got up as the boy sent out a Pokemon, commencing battle.

A brown, ape-like creature emerged, and Eurus guessed it was a slakoth.

Round 1:
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon CAPTURED Version [PG-14]

The slakoth let out a yawn, and Eurus began to feel sleepy.
He Quickly used rage on the pokemon, which seemed to be asleep itself. Maybe that could be useful. It slept through it's next turn, allowing Eurus to use rage again.
The slakoth woke up, and Eurus awaited it's next move.

((OOC: I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but I think you are asleep now.)) IC:

The blue creature looked PO'ed, completely the opposite of how the Slakoth felt. Interestingly enough, as Rage after Rage hit the Slakoth, the angry nature of the Bagon started to rub off on him. He began feeling a new and burning sensation inside him. Was it anger? He identified it as the same anger he felt when facing the bug thing AND the metal thing. The metal thing stole his berries. Amidst the chaos, he glanced over at the metal thing. He could hear, over the angry cries of the Bagon, discussion of food, particularly popcorn.

His stomach let out a noise again.

He watched as the metal thing hoarded its stolen Leppa berry. It was his, but the mean metal thing was going to keep it for himself. He felt the sensation burn inside him, more passionately and powerfully this time. He couldn't attack his own teammate, the only thing he wanted to do right now. He was getting Raged on. Even though the Slakoth was tough, it was painful to endure. His attention was focused on the Bagon now, which was recovering from the Rage it had dealt, and looking very tired as well. On the verge of sleeping, perhaps. A plan begin to formulate in the Slakoth's head. It was a simple plan, but the Slakoth thought he was smart for thinking of it. He rushed the Bagon, his claw began to glimmer in the moonlight as he raised it.

The Slakoth, a hulking and angry being, lifted his glimmering paw in the air and attempted a powerful and devastating Scratch.

OOC: Yawn works after two turns.
.....................................................
As Eurus attacked the slakoth, it seemed to change it's mood.
It glanced angrily in another direction, then rose up.
It's claws gleamed angrily in the moonlight, but Eurus drifted off before they hit.

((OOC: Slakoth uses Yawn --- Bagon uses Rage ------------------------ Turn 1 (Feeling Drowsy)
Slakoth is loafing around --- Bagon uses Rage ------------------ Turn 2
Asleep?
Slakoth uses Scratch --- Bagon has yet to make a move Turn 3

I'm honestly not trying to be a jerk, I just want to see if this is correct. Please point out my error, I'm sorry if I'm coming off as mean.)) IC:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Slakoth, angry, carved a deep gash in the ground, similar to the one he carved in the coastline of the pond, back in Petalburg. It missed, just like last time... The Slakoth was disappointed. Would Rudy give him a berry now? He really was hungry, and he knew he had to push up the speed if he wanted to make a hit. But speed was so... exhausting. He had spent a lot of energy, so he took his Truant and tried to recover, still feeling the anger of missing the Bagon completely and having the metal thing hoard his berries while he was in combat. It was annoying to miss like that. Hopefully the next time's Scratch would hit.

((OOC: Wind, you have to write your battle more lively than that. Your posts are way too short and content-less. Look at New2's posts for a hint. Also, we won't completely follow game mechanics, since that's just plain boring, but now Bagon is definitely asleep. Or at least drowsy enough for Slakoth's Scratch to hit big time.
So: Bagon is drowsy, almost asleep. Can't really move much.))

Bagon seemed to become enraged by its own continuous attacks. "Rage," Caleb stated, simply.

Rudy understood that it was an attack, and didn't like the look of Slakoth being hammered on like that. The poor thing, it wore an exhausted expression on its face that Rudy hadn't paid attention to earlier... he had been busy thinking about his own growling stomach.

-bing-

"Of course! Slakoth is hungry!" Rudy exclaimed, and quickly looked around to see if Scrapper or Desert had found any more berries. He was stopped by a large hand. It held a blue berry.

"Would this suffice?" Caleb said and smiled at him. "It's an Oran berry, does wonders for hungry stomachs or tired limbs."

Rudy shone up and accepted the berry. "Hey... Claw!" he called, suddenly making up a nickname for the Slakoth. It wasn't a far fetched name; its claws were even gleaming in this faint starlight. "I've got something for ya!"

He threw the berry towards the Slakoth.

OOC: Sorry, I'm not so good at battles without bunnying the other character. That, and my sister pushed me off the computer before i could finish. Hopefully this post should be better.
................................................

Eurus drifted through darkness, before finally arriving at a dream.
He was on a beach, much different from the one on this route, while the wingull squawked, the waves softly curled over the sand.

Eurus looked up. there were many palm trees, but Eurus noticed something else.
A large, green bird, with what looked like a cloak wrapped round it, stood on the sand, staring at the sun.
As Eurus, drew closer, he realized the cloak was, in actuality, a pair of wings.
The bird opened it's beak and sighed.
'Greetings, Bagon. I've been waiting for you a while now.' Even though it spoke to him, it did not take it's eyes off the sun. 'I was beggining to think you wouldn't appear at all.'
It shifted from one foot to the other.
'Why don't you take a look at the sun, Bagon?'
Eurus was so mesmerized that he didn't even bother to defend his name.
He turned and looked at the sun.

It seemed so majestic, a transcendent yellow orb, surrounded by a colossal golden crown.
Eurus stared for what seemed like hours, the sun stayed in the same position.
Never moving.
Never changing.
Eventually, the bird spoke.
'Maybe we should be somewhere else. After all, destiny changes it's mind often.'

Eurus realized that they were suddenly in an inky, black darkness.
The palm trees had disappeared. They were standing on the sand, ahead of them was a large rock formation, the endless, dark sea, on the horizon sat the full moon, staring back as if a reflection in a mirror.
'Well. I guess that we'll meet here again sometime, since it seems you're waking up.'
'What do you mean?'
'You didn't have enough time to learn what you needed to.'
'May I ask? Who are you?'
'Me? I'm an Xatu. I geuss you can call me...' The bird paused. 'Xexiel.'
Eurus watched as everything slowly faded away.

When he awoke, the heat of the battle was still on. He felt a stinging pain, and realized a few turns must have passed. He quickly exploded with bite, earning him a flinch, then used rage while the slakoth was loafing. Eurus fell to his knees, but got up and braced himself for the next attack.
...................................................

OOC: Yeah so, I hope not many people notice the part of this which is stolen. XD. If you can find it, you may know what i based it on.

As soon as the Scratch had hit, the Bagon had immediately fallen asleep. The Bagon was peaceful, but, to the Slakoth's hope, damaged. The Bagon was tough, like he was. He could tell. No sooner then he had spent a moment recovering then the Bagon had woken up, and Bitten him. He wanted to react with a Scratch, but it was too late. He had flinched. He needed another moment to recover... he felt tired. Almost to the point of fainting.

"Hey Claw! I've got something for ya!"

It was as if an angel, in the form of a hyperactive boy, had heard his stomach's plea for food. The energetic boy tossed him a berry! He had seen these sorts of berries before: they were a delicacy in Petalburg Forest. He spent a moment staring, and then, with surprising speed, swallowed it whole. He immediately felt better. His injuries seemed to sting less, and he was elated. This didn't last for long, however, as he still felt angry toward that Bagon. That Bite + Rage combo was powerful, but with the help of an Oran berry, all it had done was piss him off.

He charged toward the Bagon, fast for a Slakoth, giving it no time to react. It braced itself as Claw lifted his claw in the air, going for an extreme and Critical Scratch attack. The Slakoth felt it's newfound power and let out a "Koth!"

((OOC: Don't let this battle be too long now xD We want to catch Eurus and make him part of the team so we can finallly challenge the gym. ))

Rudy saw that the berry had worked wonders on Slakoth. "How come..." he thought aloud.

Caleb understood what he was thinking. "Oran berries have enervating powers, I told you that."

Rudy was watching the battle when replying, "Yeah, but I thought you were just saying that because it had a nice ring to it."

Caleb facepalmed. "Why did you toss it to Slakoth then?"

"Berries taste good!" Rudy explained, smiling. "Come on, Claw, the Bagon's tired! Finish it!"

Poor Eurus, he'd just woken up from a strange dream, attacked, and then was hit once again.
He Used rage one more time, but it was too late, slakoth used another powerful Claw attack, and Eurus flew up, hitting the floor.
It seemed as if his eyes were swirling, like you would see on an anime when something was knocked out.

[PokeCommunity.com] Pokémon CAPTURED Version [PG-14]

It was dawn as the small boy threw over a a pokeball, catching the rare dragon.
As Eurus was carried off, he dreamt of the journey ahead, and the possibility once again seeing meteor falls.
.....................................................................................
OOC: About the |VS| things, they're only gonna be for important battles, don't worry about them cluttering up the RP.

((That's too bad, I kinda like it. Brings a visual flair that most of us lack.))

Scrapper scowls, upset the battle ended. "Fight was just getting good!" He pops a Leppa berry into his mouth, hiding another in a pocket of his armor. "Slack-Claw not bad at fighting. Not as much as me Scrapper, but still good." He drops the rest of the berries on the ground and steps back. "These yours, not me's."

The Slakoth looked happy as he had secured his victory, and a new member of the team! Even better, the metal thing in which the Slakoth had an issue with offered him some berries. No, not some berries, or his berries, my berries. The Slakoth was having a vain streak at that moment, but accepted the berries offered thankfully. Solving his hunger, he chowed down on the remaining berries.

He looked at Rudy happily, and the man next to him. The man looked pretty powerful, but he seemed friendly. Claw nuzzled Rudy's shoe, thanking him for the delicious Oran Berry he had been treated to amidst the battle. Claw forgot about everyone else around him, and began to fall asleep, right then and there. It was dark, and Claw was tired. Claw began to think about the new blue member. He was pretty powerful, but did he belong on the team? These thoughts made him drift into a slow and peaceful slumber.

It was late. By the time they reached Petalburg again, Caleb was almost dragging the half-asleep Rudy beside him. The boy had used up his energy and not even noticed how tired he was. Caleb made sure all of Rudy's pokémon were safely in their pokéballs before entering the gym building. Strange, one pokéball was empty... didn't Rudy have 6 pokémon? Then he spotted Desert, simply standing behind its trainer looking up at them with its small eyes. Caleb chuckled a little before telling the pokémon that it would get a good night's sleep inside a pokéball, and sending it back inside the empty one.

Rudy slept like a log that night, in a guest room in one of the many corridors in the gym building. His pokémon hopefully did as well, though some were maybe pondering the idea of being a pokémon in the possession of a trainer instead of being wild.

The next morning, Rudy didn't even finish his breakfast before challenging his father again. His pokémon were sitting around the table eating as well, because Rudy had insisted they should. Caleb sighed and told him to eat up his cereals. But then he accepted Rudy's challenge. If nothing else, it would teach Rudy a valuable lesson of not being so hasty and over confident.

And so, after the cereals were gone, they finally walked out to the biggest battle arena in the gym. Rudy gazed upon it, jaws down at the floor. His pokémon were still out of their pokéballs. "Wow," he said, as if he only now realized he was about to battle, not only his father but a real gym leader.

((OOC: POV posts are, of course, welcome ^^ After that we can commence the battle!))

The day has come. Today Rudy challenges the Gym Leader. Scrapper had slept well, eager to fight. As soon as breakfast arrives however, all thoughts of battle leave his mind. He eagerly devours his food, even taking a bite out of the bowl. "Bleh. Metal tree taste much better. But Boy said no eat those..."

At the Gym, Rudy seems overwhelmed, but Scrapper is well fed and feeling fiesty. He roars loudly, which sounds squeaky and small. "Me Scrapper ready to fight! Ready to win!"

"You'll certainly be able to take a hit, but I'd be wary of this gym leader."

Desert remembered last night, when Norman calmly called out names for the combatants' attacks. He likely knew more about everyones' techniques than they did! Desert found the thought uncomfortable; the idea that someone knew what he was going to do before he did was somewhere between demoralizing, enraging, and exciting.
Someone was going to lose, and he decided it wasn't going to be him. He would use his new combo, and disorient the competition. Yes, that seemed the way to win....

[OOC]
This woodstove is a little warm to be sitting next to while typing, but it insists on puffing.

:/

Buzz knew what was going on, he just didn't care. Today was most likely going to be a good day. This is the day when Rudy challenges a gym leader, his own father.

He would try his hardest, yes. But he had a feeling Rudy was going to lose. Still, maybe his speed could overwhelm the enemy's pokemon. At this thought, he was mildly excited. He wanted a win, to show Rudy what he could do.

"Bring it on!"

(OOC: 100th post! Celebrate!)
