I've never completed a Pokedex either, mainly because I've never been to a Nintendo event.
 
I've never been to one either. :/ That's what happens when you live overseas, and then in the middle of nowhere.

I'd be cool to have a Legendary Pokemon. I've always wanted a Mew and a Celebi. They're cool. ^^
*starts plotting to drag an event over to Kansas* XD
 
I have completed the Pokedex on my Sapphire without cheats but I don't have Jirachi and I have a Deoxys that isn't legit.
EDIT: It took me 1 1/2 of a year to complete my pokedex.

I have never completed a Pokedex even with cheats, i just get bored of having to put them in and do them to get the Pokemon, so i useally just go of the game for a while, then start it again ^__^.

No, I don't either but i did the cheat to get Mew in Pokemon Yellow, it worked but i had to start from the begining to get him. I did that for another Pokemon i can't rember but it takes too long, and i just for bored of it.
 
I don't see why Nintendo can't just make it possible to complete the games without cheats.

Because Nintendo wants $$$ so in order to complete Pokedexes legally you need to get another version of the game or have a friend get another version. Also, they keep special Pokemon like Jirachi and Deoxys so you will have to go to their events, which increases the success of the Pokemon franchise. It's all business :\

So true. Pokemon is a franchise, a huge money-maker in fact. Nintendo will milk it dry >O
 
It would be nice to see an event over here in England. Though I am going to finish Emerald regardless, I have a Mew and Celebi on Sapphire from my cheat catridge ready to tradem over once I've gotten the rest the honest way. Though I'm still annoyed, there is no point in having these Legendary Pokemon if you can't catch them in the game! I understand about the need of different versions for different Pokemon, Nintendo need the money. But the option to get all the Pokemon HONESTLY should be there! A game you can't fully complete? Whats the point?
 
the game is about being the "pokemon master" not getting all of them... thats team rocket like xD
you got deoxys and jirachi though riigh?

Yeah, That would be better if they did them in diffrent countries. I also need Mew and the other legendary Pokemon and i can only get them by doing these cheats~

Exactly what is the point of having these "legendary" Pokemon when they are not available for everybody to get in the games?

Precisely. Though its impossible to do that. And I did get Jirachi and Deoxys (Jirachi from Channel, Deoxys from my cheat catridge again, as the only event ever done in this country was miles and miles away from me, and I was ill the day it was closest...) but I still feel dishonest and annoyed about cheating. But there is no other way. Nintendo need to get their act together and put them in the game! Put only one in! I don't care! Just INCLUDE THEM!

But seriously, no one really cares about catching them all anymore (all 386 I mean). That was a pretty cool goal back in RBY when you only had 151. But nowadays, you need to get two GBA games, a Gamecube game, and tickets to a random Nintendo event. Little kids don?t have that kind of money, parents don?t want to spend that much, and older players realize that ?catching ?em all? is pretty pointless.

i heard thats how the americans translated the japanese slogan which is different, i dont know exactly....
i consider the dubbed version a cartoon.. seeing as 4 kids have taken slightly rude bit out....

Thats the entire problem! Nintendo are trying to make too much money out of it! Pokemon is (or was) one of their most successive franchise, and they really are milking it for all its worth. By tradition now, there have been two versions, so thats understandable. But not being able to catch every Pokemon between them...that isn't right. And as for it being "pointless" in catching them all, I disagree, it would be very satisfying to catch them all without cheating for once, I know this, as I got an immense satisfaction for filling my Crystal dex even with the cheating to get a Mew and Celebi.
