...Honestly, that sounds more like the start of a fanfic.
I seriously doubt they would take the time to start with a "new" main character, much less take a time jump to do so. We had a taste of the Ash-less Pokemon World with the Chronicles episodes, and those didn't really seem to do so well...

That's great and all, but it doesn't tell us when the journey will be over. I'd say the anime has a good three or more years left in it, depending on whether the writer's can whip up another plot filler like the GS Ball.

This is hard figure out. On the one hand you could say grass or water since the first opponent is a Rock type, but on the other hand I would say Fire because there are almost no fire types in Sinnoh.
