Wow, it's the first time I saw this thread... Anyway, I think sometimes Pokemon doesn't reach poor countries, so yes, it isn't worldwide...
 
True~ It's actually one of the most revolutionary series ever, I really can't imagine life without Pokemanz. xP

Plus all of the animals were replaced by them and since Pokemon are supposedly so hard to kill (fainting being the most severe case in most situations) I guess it isn't seen as a very big deal if they animate them going all out.

Although I wonder, sometimes you see those food stalls where they sell fish and other seafood delicacies. Battered Remoraid and fried Octillery anyone? Cx

How can you miss the PCC? :P

Pokémon has spread to many countries, some in that unfortunate situation. However, some religions just reject Pokémon all together. So, it goes to whom can spend the most on it. Sounds harsh, but it's business. Also, No T_A, I actually haven't watched any anime at all of Pokémon in oh three, four months? Kinda just a gamer, no longer into the anime really.

Of course, your attitudes may be different if you grew up in a world where eating pokémon may very possibly be acceptable. Then again, because of the very close bonds that pokémon can develop with trainers, it might be a rare occurrence to eat pokémon.
 
But if you think about it, Pokemon are actually the counterpart of animals and plants in our world. So maybe they really do eat Pokemon since Pokedex entries say Furret feed on Rattata. Freaks me out when I heard and imagined it...
 
Pokemon is commonly linked to bad things by adults. Does anyone in here know about the "Electric Soldier Porygon" incident? That was one of the reasons why they hate Pokemon so much...
 
The electric soldier Porygon only happened in Japan.. people though pokemon was gone for good back then =O

There's also a Woman who said "Jynx" resembled a black women, so now Jynx has a pink face instead..
 
Yup, I know that. The woman wrote a book about Pokemon (Jynx) being related to racism... That's actually why some episodes related to a "black" Jynx and other similar stuff that were aired in Japan were banned in the US...
 
I don't think Pokemon Cards are popular anymore..
As a matter of fact.. the only "popular" pokemon merchandise are the games.
 
But I don't get why they hate Pokemon so much...

Poor Porygon and its evolutions... They've never been featured in the anime ever since the ES Porygon incident... I wonder why they gave Jynx a chance...
