I came back after having thought up some more custom move animations like when I recommended how to work Aura Sphere.
Grass Knot: For this one the hex editor is needed to effectively pick how the animation will have to go because there's two ways I can think that the animation can be done; Use Ingrain's animation, but have it work on the target rather than the user or using only the second half of leech seed's animation where normally the vines will appear to show the target is "seeded", and of course removing the HP draining effect after those vines appear. After the appropriate animation is picked, it's a simple matter of changing the effect of the move from the Leech Seed status to the same move effect Low Kick has since Grass Knot deals more damage to heavier targets. It's also interesting to note that this move has direct contact despite being a special attack, so it triggers abilities like Rough Skin and Poison Point. I bring this move up as it's vital for many of the eeveelutions.
Seed Bomb is a move I've seen sucsessfully emulated in some 3rd gen hacks without any real issue, and is real easy to do. Most notably in the Ash Gray hack, where they took Bullet Seed's animation, applied base 80 attack and made it so it only hit the one time by changing it's effect to "none". You don' really need to use the Hex editor here if you don't wish to do so, but it goes without saying it's needed to make sure you don't over-write an existing move. Especially since TMs aren't that simple to change unless you know what you're doing. Finally, it's optional to add an explosion effect like which is seen on Egg Bomb or Dynamic Punch to actually show Seed Bomb as it's displayed as since it's inception, but the move can work fine without added animations from what I've seen.
X-Scissor: The best way I can figure is if you take Cross Chop's animation and edit out the hands replacing them with something like blades, or take the Cut animation, mirror the slashing mark, and have it played at the same time as the original animation to replicate the X-slashing motion of X-Scissor. Most bug pokemon do well without it but this is a necessity for Pinsir and Armaldo considering if they are in the game.
Flash Canon is a move I experimented with to an extent using G3T by turning Flash into an actual damaging attack , which ultimately makes the move useful in the long run, but it doesn't quite look right since Flash Canon as we know involves launching a ball of light which bursts and blind's the target when it hits them. Given this one can possibly splice together Zap Cannon with Flash to get the right look for the move, while also editing Zap Cannon's animation to be a big ball of light instead of ball lightning, and from there it's a simple matter to turn the copied zap cannon into a steel attack with base 70 attack and 100 base accuracy, and a 10 percent chance of accuracy reduction.
