Ok thanks again! You know I noticed a glitch btw. Just before you go in to the cave on ghost island I think it's called, I activated my bike and my character turned in to Sylvion. Then when I turned the bike off I turned in to the normal make red character! No biggie just thought it was cool.

If you explore a bit you'll find a cave with 3 boulders that block its entrance and you have to use Strength to get in. Once inside you have to navigate through the cave puzzle (it's the same puzzle of the Lost Cave in FireRed). This is a mission where you have to have your Sylveon with you.

Just completed it. It's the best romhack I've ever played. The thought and detail that has gone in to it is next level and I'm gutted that it's over! It had everything.

I would have liked to have been able to complete the tournament and use my own Pokémon for the last part, and maybe explore more post game, but that's testament to how much I enjoyed it. Fingers crossed for another in the future, but I can only imagine the time and effort this took.

Spoiler: Ending

Typically, the last, friendly battle against Wade serves a bit as the unofficial championship final since the championship itself was canceled for obvious reasons. I envisioned the game more like a book or tv series where the credits roll and our heroes live happily ever after, and the usual format of a Pokémon postgame where you are free to roam and catch legendaries didn't serve that. Besides, I believe the game was very long as it is, wasn't it?

It is a story/lore-focused Fire Red hack for casual players, developed years ago (although content was added until very recently) that I decided to release it despite originally not planning to. It is a lengthy one, especially if you explore everything and follow the various side quests, and it is divided into two parts, A and B. To play it, you'll need to patch two files and use save states to continue your saved game from Part A to B (instructions can be found in the readme file that accompanies the download). Story-wise, the game consists of a prologue, four chapters and a small epilogue. Regarding its difficulty, it's harder than the Pokémon games, but most players will not find any difficulty in finishing it. It was first released on reddit and you can read the post here.

• A mix of Pokémon, moves and types up until Pokémon X and Y. Gen I, II and III mostly but there's a decent number of Pokémon from the next generations like Hippopotas, Garchomp, Rhyperion or Galvantula (Check the online excel file for the full list of obtainable Pokémon)
• Fairy Type-Pokémon & Moves (replacing old ones)
• Physical-Special Split
• A very few story-only related fakemon and fakemoves
• Some (permanent) Mega Evolutions
• Several Regions to explore.
• Side quests that reward you with rare Pokémon, moves or special items.

Things to know - Bugs

What to do:
Use save states to save your progress rather than the game's built-in save feature. This way you can pass your progress to Part B. I.e in Visual Boy Advance, SHIFT+F1 saves an instance to a .sgm file.
Save in many and different slots
Switch Battle Style to SET for more challenge.

What to not do:
Try to complete the Pokedex. You can't catch every pokemon, the focus of this Rom Hack is the story. You can ignore the Pokedex Completely
Do not release Pokémon that were given to you for obvious story reasons, as this could potentially lead to the game being softlocked. Release only the Pokémon you've personally caught using a Pokéball.

Known Issues/Bugs:
Sometimes there's a minor graphical glitch in the reflections (it doesn't impact the gameplay).
At a certain point in the game, you will softlock if you release an obtainable Lapras before obtaining HM Surf.
In very, very rare occasions, the player's sprite (may) suddenly messes up. This can be quickly fixed by entering or exiting a building or cave or using FLY. This has been fixed but there's still a very small chance you may encounter that bug.
Please be aware that there might be spelling or language errors in the game, as English is not the creator's native language!

Patching to Part B
When prompted by the game, you will need to patch Part B onto a clean ROM and use your most recent save file (saving state) to continue the story. Depending on your emulator, you may need to rename or relocate a file to a different folder.
In terms of the storyline, you must transition to the new ROM after boarding the ship known as S.S. CHALLENGER. This should occur after you have obtained all 8 badges and participated in the initial rounds of the championship at Battle Colosseum.

Instructions of how to play PART B in Android Emulators (Using MyBoy as example):

1. While playing PART A: When the game prompts you with the message "SAVE NOW", go and create a new Save State from the Menu -> Save - > Slot 1.
2. (Optional) Link your Android with a PC (unless you can rename/copy files from your phone).
3. Navigate to the folder where MyBoy stores the save files. The path should look like this: Phone\Android\data\com.fastemulator.gba\files\save.
4. (IMPORTANT) Assuming your game is named PokemonElysiumA.gba. Take a copy of PokemonElysiumA ST1 file and PokemonElysiumA.st1 PNG file. to an external folder of your PC to make sure you have a backup of them.
5. Download and patch PART B to a completely new ROM and add it to your MyBoy. Make sure it doesn't overwrite your first one. (save it with a different name).
6. If your patched rom is now called PokemonElysiumB.gba, rename the two files of step 4 to PokemonElysiumB ST1 and PokemonElysiumB.st1 PNG and place them to the same save folder (\Android\data\com.fastemulator.gba\files\save)
7. Boot the 2nd ROM, go to the menu and LOAD the first state. You should see your hero inside the ship.

Hi, so I finished your game yesterday after some months of non-consistent play because of personal reasons. First I want to say that concratulations man for your game, your and amazing storyteller and you should definnetely consider writring a novel. I was 99% of the time hooked with the story, except with the final, (just personal preference) it felt kinda lazy for me compare to the rest of the story, you know, that emotive part in which we see Brendan's soul and he confirmed himself that he was dead, just to come back afterwards, or the final battle that wasn't difficult at all, you just had to use Xerneas.

Apart from the ocacional bug here and there I didn't like the lack of QoL features, but I undertand that this was a personal project that you've created without the intension on sharing it at first.

Another thing that really pissed me off though was the fact that some side quests couldn't be completed, I don't know if that was a lack of clear instructions or that I'm not good at looking around, but some missions like the one with the talking meowth I just could find 1 of the secret "panels" (?), or the quest about the guy who used his voltorb to fish I tried to interact with every pixel in that lake using both fishing and just "clicking" and the voltorb never showed up, and I couldn't find the last sharp, I don't remmenber if there were 3 or 4 pieces, but I only found 2.

Now, all of those bad points didn't keep me from enjoying the game over all, I really liked it and when I finished it I felt that characteristic feeling of emptiness that occures when you finish something (like a series or movies) that has been part of your "routine" for a long time, It was a relly great game.

I wouldn't recommende this game to my friends just because I don't have friends that play pokémon (ಥ_ಥ)

Those side quests you mentioned are all completable. As I mentioned in another post, I decided not to release a side quest guide because I wanted players to naturally find them by exploring the game rather than following a to-do list. However, I understand that some players are completionists, so perhaps such a guide could be released in the future.

As for the story, Brendan's final fate was originally written to be grim, but it was changed because I just said screw it and wanted to finish the whole thing with a happy ending. It's not like he had his head crushed by a Hydreigon to make his recovery unbelievable but I fully understand your point.

There are 2 kind of items: Megeavolites and Ultraevolites (the latter are for the legendary ones). You can choose which Pokemon you want to mega-evolve. There's also the Red and Blue orbs for Groudon and Kyogre.

Wonderfull game, I am amazed by what you made! I was just wondering where to find the megaevolites to mega evolve some of my pokemon (blastoise, tyranitar, metagross, gengar). I began part B not too long ago, am I just not far enough in the story? Thanks!

BlackKaiser, you have created a masterpiece. Story-wise, this is the best RomHack I've played and one of the best games I've played. The characters are awesome, the lore is interesting, the adventure is fun and hard just enough! It actually made me cry 2 times. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

But from the technical side of view...
Almost all of the sprites are just characters from the original games. And I have encountered several games breaking bugs [SPOILERS AHEAD]:

1. Game freezing when trying to talk to an NPC that is supposed to talk only in a cutscene
2. Sprites lagging on while surfing, locking you inside water tiles
3. Game doesn't actually save in your room after finishing it. Resetting locks you in a location with Parasects.
4. You can fly in the end game Astrania and get back to refugee camp, making the world go back to chaos!

Also the met locations of your pokemon get corrupted and replaced by Elysium locations in the Part B. And sometimes it is hard to read the text because the color of the text has very low contrast

I really want more people to play this game. Have you considered changing the name slightly to something like "Elysium Journey"? There is another hack called Pokemon Elysium, it can cause confusion.

Please, please, make your game the best it can be. It needs polishing. Lots of polishing.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the story since that's the main reason I made this hack: to tell a story.

Regarding the rest of your feedback, the first two bugs have been mostly fixed in the latest update, and more fixes will be included in the next one as well. The third bug is a weird issue that affects some players, where after the game ends, instead of a black screen, it teleports you to a cave where you're unable to move or do anything. It doesn't really matter since by that time the game has ended, but I understand why it's confusing. Also, thanks for pointing out the rest of issues; if possible they will be addressed in the next update along with many other stuff.

Lastly, I have noticed there's another game called Pokemon Elysium, but I think it's a fan game rather than a ROM hack and I believe it might not be complete and its production has stopped? I could be wrong though. Regardless, it doesn't really matter, I think players can easily figure out what's what.

Technically, you've reached the end of the sidequest. Trading it or not doesn't really matter at this point. Perhaps, you could create a save state from the emulator menu, see what happens if you do the trade and then load back and continue your normal playthrough with Sylveon.

I did that and all i got was aerodactyl which to me isn't worth it. I'll be keeping Sylveon since I like her much more.
