FireRed hack: Pokémon Elysium (GBA)

Thanks for the amazing game!!! I haven't had this much fun playing pokemon in ages. I didn't expect to get this attached to characters in a pokemon game.

Kinda sad that we didn't see Phillip in the epilogue tho. Hope he's doing well.

Can't patch the game. I googled Fire Red 1.0 version, and Google tells me that it is the same as 1636 FireRed (Squirrels), which I already have. When I try to patch, it tells me that the two files are a mismatch.

Do I need to load up a save state to play this in its entirety? Or can I finish up Part A, then load up part with B with the same save file after saving in a Pokemon centre to continue from where I've left off? Thank you!

Hello! You have the correct version of FireRed. Upset 0.4 is the recommended patcher but I've noticed that online patchers like Rom Patcher.js work without issues, despite that mismatching message. Try patching it, boot it up, and check if you can see the game's cover in the intro.

Hello! You need to patch two different clean FireRed ROMs, one with Part A and one with Part B. Play Part A until the game clearly instructs you to save using an emulator save state (not the save from the in-game menu). Then, boot up Part B and load that save state to continue from the emulator options. Storywise, the file switch happens after getting the 8 badges and completing the first half of the Pokémon Championship. It is clearly stated by the game, you can't miss it.

This seems to have worked. Thank you!!

Thank you! Side quests do not affect the main story so you can skip or miss them without worry. However some of them may fail depending on your choices or if you skip them at a certain point in the game, if that's what you're asking.

Version 2.1.0 is out.
  • Fixed the English of the game (most of it at least). Some dialogue rewriting and lore adjustment.
  • Visual overworld and menu improvements.
  • Changes in the game's level curve aim to reduce grinding and encourage exploration. Made the game a tiny bit easier since it's story focused.
  • TMs are now reusable but limited allowing 7, 5, or 3 uses for each one the players acquires.
  • Adding Move Releaners/Deleters in several hub areas of the game in Part B.
  • Rare Candies purchase is available right at the end of the game before the final battles.
  • Minor changes in several Pokemon's movesets
  • Players can travel back and forth to Amira Isles even after completing the main mission in that area.
  • Fixed a bug where the players enter the casino screen near the end of the game.
  • Fixed a bug here the game warps the player into a cave after the end of the game.
  • Fixed a bug where the player can fly back to the Refugee Camp in the epilogue.
  • Fixed the catch rates for some Pokemon that were uncatchable.
