Emerald hack: Pokémon Emerald++

Don't know if can be considered a bug or its intended, anyhow i noticed you can only buy a single Escape Rope at a time in the Markets, it actually let you select "x0" or "x1" and they both cost 0
Isn't possible to buy more then 1 at a time like other items?

This is a uh... "feature" haha. Escape ropes are reusable (but might still appear in the regular items pocket due to key item amount limits), so they are free so you can't abuse them. Probably should have either removed them from shops and given one to you at the start.

I'll put this in spoilers in case people haven't gotten this, or care about that kind of thing. But I need help finding Regigigas. Here's the hint:

"There is a strange saying associated with this colossal Pokémon: Three brothers brought together to a sealed salt water room. No one yet knows what this means."

I have the other three Regis, obviously that's the three brothers part. But I'm not sure where the cave could be. I was searching all over in the ocean, checking the Regi caves. No luck so far… any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

If we're improving Pokemon Emerald, can you remove Youngster Joey calling me to say that he caught a Wingull today? Why they had the correct idea to remove this in RS and then add it *back* in Emerald escapes me, but It's the most annoying thing ever, especially when you can't remove the numbers like in HGSS. Trainers should only call when they have a rematch.

I found out in the decomp code that sneasel evolved while leveling up at night with a razor claw, is there a specific place I can buy that in the game or should I use the secret menu to add it in?

Introducing: Pokémon Emerald++
Emerald++ is my first ever ROM hack based on the pokeemerald decomp. Thanks to everyone who contributes to it (and the expansion)! I couldn't have done this without that foundation. I started this ROM hack back in August as a fun way to learn the ins-and-outs of the decomp and idea after idea snowballed it into a full project. Is it unique? ...probably not, I'm sure there's tons and tons of "Emerald but better/modern" hacks out there, but I honestly didn't even know about them until I was well into this project. My hope is that, even though this may not stand out as unique, it will still be a fun "modded" Emerald experience. I hope you enjoy!

Special Thanks:

A special thank you to everyone listed (and many who were not listed but contributed to the simple modifications thread)! I have learned so much since starting this project. There are a few bugs, but I think I'm done working on this for right now. I have other ideas I want to get to (and also art school :D). Truly I wanted to make a game that I'd enjoy playing, and I think I've done just that, so that's enough for me. I hope you enjoy!

This is a really fun hack so far, just curious if there will be a way to obtain pokemon that evolve through trading.. like alakazam.. thank you

Looking through the source code on GitHub, there seems to be an item called the "Linking Cable" that allows you to evolve Pokemon that normally evolve through trading. It looks like it's available at the Lilycove Dept. Store.

I've had a lot of fun with this hack but have encountered enough bugs that I'm probably going to suspend my playthrough. To name a few:

- The fisherman NPC in Dewford does not give the Old Rod. As a result, access to water-types in the early game are extremely limited.
- Pokémon following seems very buggy - it often causes other NPCs to move along with me (as if they're following me), and I've also had it cause me to clip through buildings, requiring a reset
- My Fly HM disappeared after usage, and it's unclear how/if I could gain another one.
- The trainer Level Scaling feature, while generally great, could use tuning. Eggs seem to act as "Level 1" mons and drag the average party level way down. And in general, outliers - e.g. a newly caught Pokemon that is lower level than the rest of hearty - have too much weight on the scaling (again, they pull the average level way down, and trivialize battles, negating the feature)

Great work, though! It was a treat seeing so many later-gen Pokemon in Hoenn.

what kind of GBA emulator can I use to play this? I've downloaded two different ones and neither have worked.

Hiya, first of all great job absolutely loving the game. I've got a few questions: is there anyway I can evolve an onyx because the lilycove department doesn't sell metal coats ? Is there any way to get pikachu to evolve into its aloan form ? Many thanks

Im having a problem with Genesect holding it's elemental drives. When I make them hold one, it transforms into a mint then when I remove the mint it's holding some kind of blank TM which teaches nothing.

This is most definitely a big unless Genesect wasn't meant to be in the game.

For the record I obtained both Genesect and the Drives using the debug feature.

Sorry for the double post but I've encountered another bug(this one is a bug I'm sure).

When battling some Battle Tent or Battle Frontier trainers, sometimes the game just resets back to the title screen either when they send out a new Pokemon after i KOed their previous or as soon as the battle begins.

I've first encountered this problem at the Fallarbor Battle Tent, so could it be the Set KO tourney rules somehow going awry, or is it something else?

One thing to note is starting a battle with Beauty Jadyn in the Battle Tent in Fallarbor caused my game to automatically reset upon the battle beginning, so it could just be certain NPC trainers that somehow cause this glitch.

Hopefully these glitches I am having trouble with today can soon be fixed.

EDIT: I may have figured this one out, it may be due to the super type effectiveness indicator feature in battle that is screwing with it. Everytime I move the cursor to select a move that is either super effective or not effective, it ends up either resetting the game or if not glitches the in battle display of the moves type in some way. Also this so far only seems to be an issue in Fallarbor Battle Tent and I'm assuming the Battle Arena by extension since they use the same rules.

UPDATE: There also appears to be a major bug with Multi Battles in the Battle Tower. As soon as the first turn is done, the game prompts the "PLAYER has no more usable Pokemon" before paying the pocket money and whiting out, before returning you to the receptionist.

Alot of things need to be fixed in the Battle Frontier. Especially since we can use mythicals in there in this Romhack which I LIKE a lot. And I would like to complete all 7 Gold Symbols without having to be glitched or bugged out of a streak and start from zero again.

Also I can't use Z-Moves in Battle Frontier matches, what gives?
