How do I update to the latest version without losing my save file?

You just download the latest version and just make sure its saving to the same place. The files will load in with the latest version.

Is there a way to get more boxes in the PC? Otherwise, my Living Dex will never be completed. :(
 
My game keeps getting a black screen in Alola. Anyway around this other than going to another location or restarting?

Randomly when exiting buildings in the Alola region, my over-world screen would turn black. I would have the freedom of movement and using the menu, as well as the ability to read the text from NPCs and signs, but as far as buildings and over-world sprites go, I couldn't see anything. For some reason, grass movement was viewable, but everything else was pitch black. If I could manage to find buildings, I could enter them which would work as a fix as long as I performed some action while inside (i.e. healing my Pokemon, accessing the PC, or teleporting to another location and back). The music also continued to play.

Ah that one, yeah I had that. It usually happens when you enter/exit an area and then quickly go back. I just wait a couple of seconds and go back out of the doors and things reset back to normal.

Don't know what the dev has to do to fix it though.
