This ability did have its issues however – two Wobbuffet against in each other in 3rd gen games holding Leftovers would in fact result in an endless battle, as neither could switch and Leftover health outdid what was dealt by Struggle when they eventually ran out of PP.

I had no idea this was a thing- it makes me want to go and try it at some point just because. The only thing I've ever done like that before was a Ditto vs. Ditto battle, just to see an unchanged Ditto use a move other than Transform (Struggle).

Lol how about a Ditto transformed into a Ditto transformed into a Ditto transformed into a Ditto transformed into a...

If that happened, then the battle will be endless, since Transform always acquires 5 PP of the opponent's moves (I think...?).

These are what we call infinity loops, I suppose. A Smeargle with only Transform against a Ditto maybe?
 
Yeah, that Wobbuffet glitch was pretty interesting when I cam across it. I like neat info like that.

Transform loops were an issue in gen 1 I believe, but after that they changed it so that Transform doesn't work on a Pokemon that has already transformed. That is, once one of the Dittos transformed into the other, Transform would stop working. Same deal if it was Smeargle or Mew involved instead of one.

That said, there's other glitches out there involving Transform.
 
I never used Transform in the games, and didn't use Smeargle either. You've gotta be clever when assigning moves to it :3
 
It kind of makes you wonder how many attack and/or ability combinations can be exploited. Smeargle is one of those Pokémon that I often forget about. If it wasn't for its appearance in X and Y (and the many I've received from Wonder Trades -_-), I would have completely forgot about it by now... I do like its tail brush and 'artist's hat' though.

The Wobbuffet General DCC title is permanent, right? ;)
 
Yeah, Smeargle sure does seem like a load. Imagine how many artists may have tried to cheat art contests by having their Smeargle do it for them! I'm sure the judges would have a hard time with them.

On another note, I wonder if Smeargle could Sketch Sketch... imagine two Smeagrle trying to paint their opponent!
 
Well, in the games, if your opponent doesn't use an actual move, Sketch would cease to work. If Sketch fails, then I don't think you could possibly Sketch Sketch.

So, have you guys voted in the finale of the favorite pokémon tournament yet? I'm having trouble deciding, haha, so might end up voting for half the candidates.

I voted yesterday. It was an easy choice since many of my votes from the specific rounds didn't make it to the end haha. I say we throw Wobbuffet in the poll just for fun :P
 
I think I missed one or two of all the rounds. I want the emblem still 8D If there is one, hmm, gotta check that haha.

Yeah, I'll try to keep myself from voting for the underdogs just for the sake of it :p Maybe we should try to make the winner PC's official mascot? As if PC could ever have an official mascot. We'd be like Bulbasaur for bulbagarden or Celebi for serebii. PokéCommunity has ALL DEM pokémon as mascots!

I didn't even know it was occurring until I happened to visit PVP one day. Back then I spent most of my time in Emulation & ROM Hacking, so I probably had no idea that PVP even existed haha. I read that you get an emblem if you voted in five or more polls.

Chatot could be our mascot. Everyone is always chitting and chatting and sometimes parroting.
 
Yep, special emblems are being handed out to those that voted in 5 or more polls (or 3-4 plus the final, since I'm such a generous guy). At last count, at least 24 people will get the emblem for regularly participating! Strangely enough, this is one of the few rounds where I've actually voted, since I like a bunch of the Pokemon anyway. I try and hold off in case of a tie that I have to break, which thankfully only happened 2-3 times.

And if PC were to get a mascot, it should be a Fire type (super-effective against Bulbasaur and Celebi!). Maybe Heatmor... it's a popular Pokemon, right??
 
I think we should be original and go with Pikachu. While we're at it, let's change the slogan to "we're still working on a better rodent."

Wouldn't that be the truth? Perhaps semi-mascots could be the other 'Pikachu clones' or whatever we call them who appeared later in the newer games. That'd be quite a crack!

And yes, I've voted for the final poll! I just hope I voted in four others because I badly want that emblem, haha XD
 
If PokéCommunity were to get a mascot, I'd like it to be Vulpix. It's small, huggable, and has everything that generally defines "cute." n__n I'm speaking only for myself, though. Not sure if others would like it or not. Jirachi would be a good mascot as well, and so would Cresselia. Pikachu could work, but lots of other Pokémon sites have it as a mascot already, so it would make us sort of unoriginal. As for Arcanine--if it ever got chosen, I wouldn't mind at all.

Yup; I cast my vote in Favorite Pokémon Tournament earlier today. It was extremely difficult, though. Pokémon that were listed in the poll were all my favorites, so... yeah.

That's a good point. I guess that makes Pikachu out of the question. Vulpix is adorable, too. I've always had this soft spot for Vulpix because of the whole 'Ninetales' tails' legend. Arcanine in itself looks big and fierce, but it's still got that respectful look. I just hope this community is as amiable as they say it is, because I wouldn't stand for Stunfisk to be our mascot. Would you?

On another note, it's not uncommon for sites to have more than one mascot. We should just select the one which suits us - defines us- more. We've done a spectacular job with the slogan, but I feel a slogan like ours may not be the perfect choice to blend with our mascot. A bit of a... disturbing thought, don't you think?
 
what would the water from a Water Type Pokémon be like?

if you had to drink the water from a Water Type Pokémon because you were thirsty or dehydrated and the Water Type Pokémon was the only water source... water usually comes from a Pokémon's mouth or a few other places... how would that water taste? what temperature would it be? what texture? what other things would the water be like?
