Great idea, it's a great movie, I'm sure it'd make a cool game! :), I don't know how you're gonna manage this though, I mean it'll require a lot of scripting which is hard.

I can't see the correlation between you being able to write and the cancelation of this hack but the last post before yours is literally 12 years old. That should give you some idea.
