[Completed] Pokémon Island [v2.2] - 1025 Pokémon, Challenge Mode and more

Ahh thanks re: Feebas.
What about Dratini?
Spoiler:

I tried all the things from the readme, it still doesn't work.
If this didn't solve (and you can't run the game with your graphic card disabled), I don't know how to fix it. Sorry...

If someone reading this posts know, please share this information.

How do you get the different versions of Deerling/Sawsbuck?
Talk to the scientist at Hotel floor 5 to change forms.

Same Q for Burmy/Wormadam
Like in official games, Burmy change forms based on last terrain that it fight. When it evolves do Wormadam, the change is permanent.

Hey! Maybe you won't remember me as much, perhaps save for being the one that did a gameplay of your game a long while ago, and a unfulfilled promise of a translation. (It was like, eight years ago, I believe) -- I don't exactly remember any more details, and even believe I just made the account for that? If anything, I was like in my mid-teens back then, so I can understand why my rather unprofessional video isn't featured anymore.

I recently noticed the 2.0 update. Being a small streamer I thought it'd be worth a series, but I just thought the MIDIs didn't feel in tune with the overall Gen3 look of the game, so I passed every midi through a Gen III soundfont, replacing some of the RBY tunes with their FRLG counterparts. Took me a few hours to get it done, so it could be far better in the hands of an actual composer, but it's a pleasing result overall. I also had a few creative liberties replacing some instruments with steel drums (it ain't Island if it doesn't sound out of a beach)

As for a proof of concept, I'm leaving my conversion as a download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SpnHfCrBFMQuGBsjFkxDoSa6Bbft1QNn/view?usp=sharing
It weighs 900MBs (1GB uncompressed), making Island take a total of 1.05GBs, so I wouldn't encourage to make this a change for Island, but rather a optional pack/download with the Gen3 Fidelity MP3s.

Hahaha. It's funny because I was watching your video right before I seen your post. When I was watching I noticed that the nick "Ibiss" sounds familiar, and even checked this old video, but the voice was too different, so I guessed that was a different person, specially because of "blaze" in the nickname. Yes, I didn't notice the avatar similarity XD

It was featured until 4 months ago, when I replaced by another spanish video with the version 2.0.

You adapted more than 200 midis? Impressive! I noticed that the musics sounds nicer at your video (and some sounds too FrLg XD), now I know the reason. I put your pack at the thread main post.

By the way, Island has it own category on Twitch. Usage is suggested, but not required.

Oh boy. You don't see a orange foureyed character that often, and that's kinda why my older character strikes enough of a resemblance to get related to some of my older accounts. On the video topic, gotta say Chronica does a far better job than 2014-2016 me.

On the adaption... well, it's surprisingly easy when you get to know the software. It's a quick patch, kinda noticeable by how there's a slight excess of piano tracks. Setting the instruments was possible, but a task I didn't exactly knew how to do right (only exceptions being the Intro and Beach themes having steel drums), which meant that all I needed was the soundfont and a program to convert the midis. I did a bit of audio balancing, though some tracks had very low volume or straight up went from silent to loud, which didn't help much, but my attempt still managed to work towards some extent.

About the category, I noticed it, but I can tell that it may be a bit unused, mostly because of visibility. Kinda like how many people stream Pokémon Iberia in FireRed, basically because it is one of the most commonplace sections to find people playing mainline 2D Pokémon. Not understimating the popularity of Island (this forum post alone has 800k views, which is awesome), but I believe it is the right choice to get more people to know about that game.

Quick edit: I believe that the Fidelity Patch may only work if it replaces the Audio folder; mostly because the MIDIs will stay if not, and the MIDIs will play instead. I noticed the Audio folder is hidden in the current version, so it may be a good idea to mention that detail before anybody complains about it not working.

I tried to change some instruments using Anvil Studio in the past, but didn't like the results (with few exceptions).

Still, there are many midis, you also said that this took hours.

Yep, there is a lot of midi that I can only found as piano.

Good point. I used the "not required" at my last post just because I imagined that there is some reason about this. And there are.

I almost put this yesterday. I guessed that since it was an extra, people can handle this, and if don't, people with ask, but you're right. An extra line is better than a small confusion for few people.

Got a bunch of "where do I find X Pokemon"

How do you get the Froakie line? I got all the Starters from Oak that I can get. Don't see it in the trade list either.

Others:
Yamask/Cofragius
Scraggy/Scrafty
Trubbish/Garbordor
Minccino/Cincinno
Glameow/Purugly
Cherubi/Cherrim
Baltoy/Claydol
Surskit/Masquerain
Phanpy/Donphan
Farfetch'd (both kinds) and Sirfetch'd

Thanks!

Scraggy, Trubbish, Minccino, Yamask, Cofragius and Baltoy Are found in the Desert/Pyramid which is a Safari Zone like area that you get access to by buying the Upgrade from City Hall

Cherubi is Found in the Beach area via Headbutt Tree Which I believe you get from the Rarity Shop at Rank 9+

Sirfeych'd is gotten Via a trade for a Fearow which you get either by Walking on land in the Sea area (Rank 11+) or by evolving a Spearow that can be gotten by Headbutt Tree in the Sea Area or in the Desert Area which can be found around Level 20 there. Which you can then breed for either Farfetch'd only for the Galar form you will need to have a everstone on the Sirfetch'd to get that one

I am not sure where you find Glameow/Purugly, Surskit/Masquerain I have a feeling maybe found at the Oasis in the desert Safari Zone but I have no clue how to find that area and Donphan is gotten by Evolving Phanpy who I have no idea where to encounter him.

All right, except Cherubi that is on Plains tree, not Beach.

These two, and Phanpy, are found in the Oasis. Surskit is surfing (I need to raise its chance in v2.1). Complete the Pyramid to get an Oasis Map.

Hey ho!^^

Your game was a very nice experience. The development of the Island was a good idea and had interesting buildings here and there. ;-)
I've played the game till rank 12 A, but then it was not a game anymore - it was more like work and then my fun decrased.
Anyhow - you have done very great work so far and I wish you much success with your project.^^

Sincerly,

Patricipa

Thanks for the feedback! This is very important for improving the game.

There is a difficulty spike on this rank (as well as the start of next area) scheduled to be lowered on version 2.1. An increase in Exp. All bonus is also scheduled.

Is it like the Upgrade for Porygon? I'm confused.

Is it something in I find the Exploration Outpost? Or get from someone?
You need to build the Exploration Outpost, like a normal building from City Hall. In this building you gain access into the Desert.

Tecnically isn't an upgrade. It has nothing to do with Porygon's evolution item.
