Recently I've been thinking more about the Pokémon Legends spinoff as if it were the beginning to a new direction for the series - regardless of how you feel about the modern games we can probably agree that the pokémon universe is still very interesting to learn about given how different it is from our own and yet how little we know about it given how large the world has been presented to be. Legends seems to be an opportunity to give us a little more in the way of lore and world building (since the franchise is rich with that kind of potential but has yet to really embrace it) and I was wondering if people had any ideas about what Legends games for other regions would look like?

For me, the personal favourite has to be a Legends type game set in wild west Unova: the expansion into the frontier would provide a perfect parallel to the Sinnoh expansion gameplay loop we're seeing in Arceus, plus the cool as hell similarities between gunslingers locking eyes for a duel and pokémon battles: six pokémon, six bullets in a revolver. I'm not sure exactly what mythical pokémon would be at the center of that game's lore - perhaps Meloetta as some sort of mysterious pokémon universe saloon performer or something less silly.

Anyways, I'd love to hear people's thoughts on how this concept might look in other regions as we get a chance to jump far back in the history of that area with a new format. What are your hopes and dreams for these more story-focused endeavors in your favourite regions?

I'd love to see a Legends game set in Victorian era Galar (England). Someone at one point brought up an excellent idea for starters for the region - Chespin (knight), Charmander (dragon), and Popplio (princess), which are three I think would be an absolutely perfect fit. SwSh may not have been as well-regarded by some people but I think a Legends game to give it extra depth/history would be great and have lots of possibilities. With Calyrex as the cover legendary, of course. :D Though I'm not sure on how I'd expand on it to create a well-structured story, these concepts/ideas by themselves just seem so fascinating and interesting to me.

I feel like this combination of starters would work even better in medieval Galar - or perhaps (while we're wildly fantasising unrealistically) some kind of dual map, medieval Galar and Kalos since the two are so linked already in lore anyways! I think SwSh's world and new crop of mons are actually really strong, and the best elements of the Galar games.

That's an awesome idea, I didn't even think to combine Galar and Kalos in such a way. I think you've created my dream game. \o/ Would absolutely love to see this! Calyrex and Diancie would work really well for Galar/Kalos focal point legends, since one is a king and the other a queen/princess.

This is such a great idea! Give me more chess themed pokémon and make that the focal point :D
