With the start of Contests in Hoenn, the debut of Pokémon Musicals in Unova, and in the Pokémon Showcase in the XY Anime, what new form of Pokémon "entertainment" will be hold in Sun&Moon?
If there was a new form of Entertainment in SM, I believe it would be some sort of Luau-themed type of Pokémon Musical.
You would dress up your Pokémon and let them dance in the song (like a Musical) but instead of using props to showcase them, the Pokémon will use their moves to showcase them.
For example, your Pokémon's costume would be their appeal but then the second part is to "dance" to the luau song and show off themselves with their moves.

I honestly just want to see a Pokémon Luau in SM, and this seems like the most logical way of a Luau being held in SM since it is based off in Hawaii.

I'm hoping there will be some sort of Hawaii themed event that you can take part in. Perhaps some sort of hula dancing competition in which you can dress up your Pokemon and get them to face off with others competing to create the best combination of dance moves.

This reminds me how much I miss contests and musicals. But I do think a luau in a Hawaii-based region would make for a good concept, especially with all the attention to detail Game Freak has been doing with the new Pokemon so far.

What's interesting is that a luau isn't just about the songs and the dancing(and the food). The luau dances act as story-telling; some of them tell fictional and non-fictional stories that happened during ancient Hawaiian times.

If they were to implement luaus in SM, I can see it being a combination of the Musicals and Pokestar Studios, but without all the glam.

I want to be able to mix up PokePuffs.

I'm imagining a Pignite with an apple in its mouth...

This seems a bit more like an elaborate form of the Contest, rather than needing its own format. Generally, musical and film elements have been kept to side-aspects, and left fairly recreational, rather than merely added to essentially the Contest format. You probably wouldn't want to make the mostly Pokémon-focussed Contests too derailed by having to like and engage in all sorts of other gimmicks - and in addition if it's just a dance it probably shouldn't be treated as such an oppositionary activity -, so while some sort of limited implementation might be possible in place of films or such, it might not be optimal to have it take the same place.

Hmmmm that's pretty cool. It'll be pretty awesome if there was some sort of luau telling the character/us about the origins of Alola.
