Didn't see a thread for it, so I made one.

Ever take the time to look over Pokédex entries and truly look deeper into it?

I have, and I sure have a lot.

First off, at Mamoswine's D/P Pokédex Entry:

"Its impressive tusks are made of ice. The population thinned when it turned warm after the ice age."

Over time, wouldn't mamoswine's tusks slowly melt if brought by it's trainer to humid areas, which is is most of the landscapes in Sinnoh and Johto.

Plus, does it mean it can't live in warm areas if it's population died down in those temperatures?

As you can see, I have lots of question on that entry alone.

But what Pokédex entries have intrigued you in some way or you wish to discuss?

Lol. Magikarp's pokedex entries. Platinum mentions it splashing over a mountain, whereas HeartGold/SoulSilver mentions it only being able to jump 7 feet.

Although, Platinum mentions specifically with Splash.

Magikarp's again. It states it to be the weakest pokemon ever, but Sunkern is the weakest really, if you go by Base Stat Total.

Oh, Pichu's in some games mention it struggling to store electricity, yet it can use Charge, Volt Tackle etc.

This is just stuff nicked off Bulbapedia, but I had noticed it beforehand.

    Infernape's Pearl entry said:
Its crown of fire is indicative of its fiery nature. It is beaten by none in terms of quickness.

108 base speed, while impressive, is far from being able to match Ninjask's 160. XD

A lot of the best Pokedex inconsistencies have to do with exaggerating the pokemon's abilities, actually. :P

    magcargo D/P/PT pokedex entry said:
Its body temperature is roughly 18,000 degrees F. Flames spout from gaps in its hardened shell.

The temperature is just ridiculous since surface sun temp is around 9,941 F, enough to melt any material, making magcargo existence a phisical joke.

    Well, I love looking at Pokedex entries XD;

Something I recently stumbled upon is Corsola's Pokemon Silver entry foreshadowing RSE.
In a south sea nation, the people live in communities that are built on groups of these Pokémon.
Which, of course refers to Pacifidlog Town in Hoenn :D

    And then, there's Gorebyss XD

Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids.
    That's terrifying ;-;

    Larvitar's LeafGreen Pokédex Entry said:
It feeds on soil. After it has eaten a large mountain, it will fall asleep so it can grow

    However, Larvitar's statistics disagree:

    Height: 2'00"
    Weight: 158.7lbs

Whilst that is heavy, unless these "mountains" were based on what ants class as a mountain, that is impossible. Even as Tyranitar:

    Height: 6'07"
    Weight: 445.3lbs

So unless most mountains are actually 'tar excrements, meaning they no doubt end up eating eachother's...never mind......then there's no way the Pokédex is correct.

    *Random Fact*
    - Coincidentally, my cousin is the same height as a Tyranitar. However, he is nowhere near as heavy -

One game (I forget which one) says that Metang's body won't be scratched even if it collides with a jet.

First off, can Metang float high enough so that it's at the same altitude as commercial jets? And second, who was the sadistic individual who thought of this little experiment?

    Lapras' FireRed Pokedex Entry:
Its high intelligence enables it to understand human speech. It likes to ferry people on its back.

I thought all Pokemon could at least understand human speech. In the anime, wheneevr the characters talk to their Pokemon, even if they're just ordering an attack, wouldn't the Pokemon need to know human speech to know what they're asking?

Same in the games, especially in HG/SS, since you can talk to your Pokemon.
