I'm still searching for more codes, but as you can imagine, it takes time to probe every possible hexadecimal combination one by one...also, no one ensure that they'll still working in the final version 3.0

Bro, i tried the held item mod on my Typhlosion and for some dumb reason it transforms into a venonat and with no rc's.

Just asking how, but, how can I easily get a Heracross? I got a 7 trainer number on the trainer card [haiyaa.]

Hi! I'm playing the 3.0.0 version in a 3DS and I have no problems so far. But there is an annoying warning message every time I start a game. Is there any way to take off that warning?

Yes, by following the instructions given by the message.

As a caution, please don't just use gameshark codes you find, either for vanilla or even for PC while it's still in beta. We move memory addresses around quite frequently meaning codes become outdated and can have unexpected results. We also do not and will not post warnings about when memory addresses shift, so the onus is on you to keep your codes up to date. Use the sym file and the constants folder on the github to generate your own codes, there are tutorials for how to do that.

Hello Rangi and everyone!

I have been a lurker in this community for a long time, mostly because I usually don't have anything useful to say. However, Polished Crystal and its maker deserve a shout out because this is probably the most complete experience i've ever had playing Pokemon, and I've played a lot. Thank you for making it happens, Rangi, and thank you for keeping it updated over the years. I could see how much different 3.0 beta is compare to 2.2 and now that I've had a taste of 3.0, going back to 2.2 is impossible.

That being said, I understand that you're trying to make this mod as perfect and polished as possible, and I personally feel the same too, I want this game to be the definite experience. This is the game that I will be introducing to all of my friends.

Anyway, enough for lengthy discourse. I don't know if people have discussed about these following problems before, but I hope I can contribute in making this ROM better. Here's my two cents:

- Some graphic elements, such as signs on the ground or mailboxes have different background compare to other tiles around it. I didn't notice this back in 2.2 and in my opinion, the newer elements looks better, but without the right background for them the general aesthetic suffers. I hope there's a plan to make them blend in the environment more?

- Certain overworld character models have received an overhaul, but I think you went too far with some of them. Some had their colors done too vibrant (the green girls come to mind) and some have too complex details that actually looks worse than the original model (the Ace trainer I meet outside Dark Cave come to mind). I can see the potential for all of them, though, and I hope you can come back to visit those models once you have time!

And that's that! I haven't yet encounter anything else worth pointing out in this ROM, and I've spent 30-40 hours into it in the past few weeks.
Thank you and
Smell ya later!

To the poster above: I believe that you can find 3.0 beta on Rangi's Github

So apparently Volt Switch is in the game. Using fought a few trainers while nuzlocking Polished Crystal's 3.0 version and a few Pokemon have used Metronome against me. On two occasions, they got Volt Switch, one being during the Whitney fight (Clefable).

Also, I'm not sure if this would be inconvenient but it would be really nice to have a document detailing all the big boss fights (in particular the Ace Trainer fights you unlock by beating all the trainers on a certain route). This would be incredibly useful for those who intend on Nuzlocking the game, and believe me, the lack of documents have cost me a run on its own.

There's a Battle Girl boss fight in the Olivine Lighthouse with a Primeape that has GUNK SHOT, NIGHT SLASH and CROSS CHOP, people. I was not prepared for that shit.

I've been playing this ROMhack for a couple weeks now. Polished Crystal is, for me, the ideal way to play Gen II. I love all the quality-of-life improvements and the mechanics borrowed from later generations, all paired with greatly-refined Gen II graphics. (I've always loved the Gen II battle animations in particular, and you've built off of the existing ones to show newer-gen attacks beautifully.)

I especially appreciate how you display Abilities in the battle interface: the black text cards that pop up are actually better than how Gen III handled abilities. There's a practical limit to how much text you can shove through the main text box at the bottom of the battle screen before it becomes annoyingly too much information, and by splitting abilities into their own unique text boxes, you made it much easier to process what's going on.

I also really, really like the new PC Pokemon storage boxes. (Though I do miss the PC box mid-save cloning glitch from the base Gen II games. Farewell, infinite master balls...)

And I don't mind how you removed some Pokemon to fit later evolutions in, or how you merged some attacks together. I'm a minimalist at heart, and I'll happily take a smaller, more carefully-curated collection of attacks and Pokemon over the Pokedex- and battle engine-bloat of other ROMhacks.

I do have one minor criticism. I understand what you were trying to do by slowing down the cries of fainting Pokemon, but in practice, I don't think it has the effect you intend. In the original code, the hundreds of Pokemon cries were based off a handful of sound samples that were altered to make them sound "unique". Slowing a cry down often makes it sound like a completely different Pokemon's cry, because that's how the original programmers often made those cries in the first place. Fainting Electrode sounds exactly like a regular Electabuzz, and several others end up sounding like Noctowl. (Others just sound weird. Fainting Electabuzz doesn't sound anything like a slowed-down Electabuzz cry, but it does sound mildly disturbing, like the cry isn't playing right.) I'd appreciate an option to turn off the altered fainting cries, though I understand if you decide that's too much work.

But that's a pretty minor complaint, and as far as I'm concerned this is the ideal ROMhack, so perfect I thought something like it would only exist in my imagination. It's that good!

btw, I cannot for the life of me find the other Johto starters in Yellow Forest. I wanted to revamp my team after beating the Elite 4, and I've seen it mentioned in a couple places that Totodile and Chikorita are catchable there. But after spending a couple hours fruitlessly walking in grass and surfing in Yellow Forest, I gave up, downloaded your code from GitHub, and searched the wild encounter files for any mention Totodile or Chikorita, only to find that they're not even listed anywhere as a wild encounter. Is it possible to obtain them at all? (Yes, I am playing v3.0.0)

Iv been trying to play this game forever and the google drives aren't working to download it.
