Crystal hack: Pokémon Polished Crystal (update 3.1.1!)

Does anyone know how to get hisuian Typhlosion?
It's an event encounter, you cannot evolve your starter into one. The encounter is
Spoiler:

Are all cross-gen evolutions in this or only the ones from Gen 4? Would really determine my team honestly, as much as I'd love to use pokemon like Sylveon and Farigiraf
Cross-Gen evolutions, baby versions, and regional forms are all in. This includes Sylveon, Farigiraf, Annihilape, etc. However, convergent species (like Wugtrio) and paradox mons (like Walking Wake) are NOT in.

Ahh that's fantastic! Definitely using Farigiraf for sure then along with some others and perhaps a regional form, just hope most if not all can be found in Johto or least not super far in the game

I swear this hack is slowly becoming the Golden Standard for Crystal Hacks.

All it really needs is that Pokémon Color Palette editor from Crsytal Clear and the Open World aspect of it.

But still, the Hack is a great thing on its own right and has already cemented itself as one of the best (if not the best) around.

Super excited for the future and very thankful for what we have today :)

As a token of appreciation, allow me to share you my Pizza Boy C "Box Art", which is the icon that appears on the Home Screen of my Phone:

Finally finished the Kanto Arc, and I know I said this before, but this is the definitive Crystal experience. I've been a hardcore Johto stan, and been following GSC remakes/enhancements hack, as far back as Shiny Gold by Zel 2.0 and Oro Sole, by Hackmew, I can finally sit back and say I've had the best GSC experience, ever. Thank you for all your hard work. :')

Note that Polished Crystal has been moved from the Sideshow Showcase to the main ROM Hacks forum.

So, I think we can all agree this is the best romhack ever? Yes?

Good.

Now, to be greedy - I really wish I could play through the Red/Blue storyline using this exact same engine/sprites/etc. I love Johto (hell, I love all Pokemon games including S/V), but as an oldhead, RB are my kryptonite. Playing through them using this engine would be my dream come true. And while I'm making absurd wishes, if Mega Evolution was somehow included, I don't think I'd ever ask for more hahah

Just a matter of time, in due time we'll get like 5 variations of your wish:

- Hyperion Red: Same old Red Story, mostly vanilla, but includes 251+ Pokémon and their respective Megas.
- Supreme Red: Includes following Pokémon, vanilla story, 151 Pokémon and their Mega Evolutions.
- Rogue Red: Red Roguelike with the OG 151 Pokémon, Megas, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Teras.
- Pokémon R.E.D: Open World Red/Blue with custom music, follower Pokémon and Megas, no story however, all gen 1-2 Pokémon Obtainable solo.
- Pokémon Kantorture: Kaizo + Nuzlocke, all Gimmicks and Custom Music including music from Other games and Animes, lots 300+ Pokémon (151 OG, the rest are Fakemon), modern Typing.

Of course I'm half joking here, but musing about this prospect is hilarious :P

I thnk the closest you would get to this, would be Extreme Yellow or Red++

Hey! Brazilian speaking here, I found polished crystal while looking for gen 2 romhacks, its my favorite gen, I am in love with this romhack, its amazing, i cant have words to say how good it was playing it, I just got all the 289 mons and my shiny dex, also defetead Red and Green already, I still have some tms to collect and maybe I missed some of those encounters with trainers from new regions. How does the shiny charm works? it helps to breed shiny pokemon as well? I wanna a shiny dragonite and a shiny umbreon :)

The shiny charm affects breeding. Different trainer IDs of the parents increase the shiny odds as well (for example breeding with the shiny perfect IV Ditto that's called Masuda, you get it as a reward from Mr. Pokemon). Shiny eggs are blue, so you can save before taking one from the daycare man, check if it's blue, and if it's not, reload. No need to hatch.

Does anyone know the earliest you can get a Linking Cord? I have a Haunter that's starting to lag behind the rest of my team (Early 40's, just beat Pryce) and evolving it would help a lot.

EDIT: Found one! It was at the bottom of Union Cave, in the same area where Lapras can be found!

How to know im playing latest version?
On the intro screen, the one that after the intro video plays says pokemon crystal, at the bottom it says the version. The current latest version is 3.1.1 (311 pretty rad band btw), but be forewarned that the 3.1.1 for some reason does say 3.1.0 for me (unless I didn't update but I am certain it is)

That's correct, although on this reddit post, OP mentions the reason it's not 3.1.1 is because of a slight oversight.

I've read that this game has a nuzlocke mode. How do I play with that setting on? I'm guessing I'm just missing it somewhere as a menu option. I'm on the latest version.

They got rid of that mode because Nuzlockers were trying to bend the development of Polished Crystal to them.
