I have anothr question, does this game have a key item for rebattling trainers like the VS Recorder? I have difficulty in maintaining budget for healing items. The gauntlet places sure tax my inventory
If the VS. Seeker or equivalent isn't present, is it possible to add one, @Sloo?

I finished this game today, without having used cheats. Overall, this game is satisfying, in the sense that it offers a challenge in Pokemon Gyms (which are getting harder and harder). I mainly play Fan Games rather than Rom Hacks, so I drastically lowered my expectations for this GBA game.

As for the story mode, it is nothing special. You can tell, though, that the developer put effort into the game to stand out from the rest of the developers for GBA games.

Overall, this is one of the best GBA Rom Hacks.

Hello, I would like to ask is there a way to leave the studio before fighting Shane in Goldenrod? Does losing to him is the only way?

Can you maybe swap Sceptile's attack and special attack including it's mega? It makes no sense how sceptile is more a special attacker than it's physical and sceptile is one of my favorite starter pokemon. It's pokedex entry says "It agilely leaps about the jungle and uses the sharp leaves on its arms to strike its prey." , "The leaves that grow on its arms can slice down thick trees." It makes me mad that the pokemon stats don't match their pokedex entry and those pokedex entries are more what a physical attacker does.

Hey just wanted to ask is there any eta at all for when the modern exp share will be added in? Just so spoiled by playing other games that have it these days, thanks!

You can receive Squirtle as a post-game gift pokemon. Mudkip is on route 46, but very rare. Mudkip does swarm, but that only happens after beating the elite four.
am i missing something i can not find water on route 46 theres a suspicious pond on route 45 or is the kip just hanging out in the grass

Modern exp share in older games i think ends up working great when its 50% or something for every other mon, but it severely touches balance so do be careful.

That said, when the 1.3 update drops i hope theres some way to convert save files to 1.3, otherwise im stranded on 1.2.

Hi! I'm new in this community. This is my first rom hack and I'm really enjoying it. Maybe I missed something but may I know what are the odds of getting the items and wild pokemon appearance? I've read the spreadsheet you've provided but I'm afraid the reason I haven't managed to steal a metal coat from a wild magnemite is due to bugs. I've trying for days now.

Depending on how Sloo set things up, a Pokemon that can have an item will have it at either a 5% chance or a 50% chance. (Some Pokemon have an available item in both slots.) Most will have the former, so the default odds are 1-in-20.

To increase these odds, I recommend getting a Pokemon with the Compound Eyes Ability. Butterfree, Venonat, and Yanma (and Nincada) can all have this Ability. Place them at the front of your party (fainted or not), and the odds that Pokemon that can hold items will hold an item will increase from 5% to 20% for the 5% slot and 50% to 60% for the 50% slot. 1-in-5 odds are a lot more favorable than 1-in-20, so it'll be a good investment in your time to have that Compound Eyes Pokemon at the ready.

Hey, Sloo. I have a Sheer Force Nidoking and had put a life orb onto him as I love the raw power. However, the life orb damage(which is negated by Sheer Force) still causes the damage to go off after an attacking move is used.

Don't really have an accurate eta yet. Could be a month or two, there's a lot to do.

There are just kips hanging out in the grass.

That's why I've been hesitant to incorporate the exp share. I tried it and played to the second badge and was pretty overleveled.
If I do change the exp share, I will have to go back through and update all pokemon levels, wild and trainers. Would probably play through the game 2 or 3 times to make sure levels are good too.
I feel like the game is pretty balanced as-is too.

Yup, that's how it works. The life orb damage is only negated on moves that Sheer Force affects. I looked it up before, and that's how it is in the main games too.

I have a couple of questions to ask you. Have you decided what johto mega's you are going to put in the game? and how long is it going to take to finish all of this for the v1.3 patch? I unfortunately start school on august 1st :(

Hey all, no TM for substitute this time around, is there a tutor somewhere? Neither of the Mt Rage tutors have it, is there anyone else?

It'll be ready when it's ready. Apparently 1 3 is gonna be a huge update.

First off really good rom hack! my in game clock says something close to 110 hours, but it's probably way less because I'm using speed up to train extra mons on wild encounters, badge count is 5 right now, enjoying a quite a bit and since I don't usually play with a really big dex I'm just experimenting with some formations and mons.

That being said I do have a question, in any point in the dev process you are thinking about making documentation about at least the opponents teams in mayor battles? for example I got an early leftovers using thief because I noticed one opponent had it, but mostly for nuzlocking purposes having some documentation helps a lot.

i think I've done everything there is to do story wise unless there is something I'm missing i beat the league twice and im just curious if there is anything else i could do in term of story like can i do something that would allow me to go to kanto? (i very much enjoyed the game)

The poll is actually pretty much dead even, so I'm thinking about using my Typhlosion and Feraligatr, and then the Fairy/Grass Meganium.
I'm still not sure how long 1.3 will take. It will take longer if I incorporate the gen 6 style exp share.

Hmm, you're right. It looks like it was from a move tutor on the roof of the Lillycove dept store in original Emerald, but I removed the rooftop in mine.
Might have to add that tutor somewhere else.

I've thought about adding a list of all gym leaders full teams with all info to the first post.

The second champion is pretty much the final boss of the game, there isn't really any other story after that.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I actually like Typhlosion only having the one type - apart from the interesting interaction of using Burn Up to go typeless, not enough fully evolved starters are monotype. Would make for a unique design having to come up with a powerful gimmick while retaining the monotype, I think.
