*First, you need a Geodude with Sturdy; less than 60 HP; a Moveset of Rollout, Defense Curl, Rock Polish, and Dig; about 50 super potions (the repeatable fight with the Rocket Grunt in Five Isle Meadow is a good early grind for money, especially when you can sell the Pokeballs he gives); and a Lax Incense from Lost Cave.
*Turn 1, use Defense Curl, because Dragon Rage for some reason acts like a regular physical move instead of doing set damage of 40hp per hit like it's supposed to. Flamethrower will take you to 1 hp, but thanks to Sturdy, Geodude will always tank it unless you get burned (then just reload a save state). If Charmander misses while Geodude is at full health because of Lax Incense, use this opportunity to use Defense Curl to tank Dragon Rage better. The reason for that is because if it uses Dragon Rage twice, that means it ran out of PP for Flamethrower, and the more Defense Curls you use (up to 6), the less damage you take. Heal when necessary. Once it starts struggling, now is a good opportunity to max out Rock Polish, and eventually Charmeleon will Faint itself.
*Pikachu is less annoying, but not by much. Starts with Fake Out, then will use Surf because of course. If it misses at full HP due to Lax Incense, use Dig. Eventually it will run out of PP for Surf and will just use Fake Out since whatever Electric attack it has doesn't affect Ground Types (Enemy AI is fun). Use this opportunity to max out Defense Curl and Rock Polish if you haven't already, then use Rollout to finish it off. If you get paralyzed from Static, load a save state.
*Butterfree gets sent out, but since you outspeed it from Rock Polish and already have at least 1 Rollout under your belt, it gets oneshot.
*Sandslash is next. It'll use Dig to take you out, but the Defense Curls and Rock Polishes you maxed out earlier allow you to both tank it and outspeed it. So once it's Dug a hole, and you waste a turn by healing, you can Dig to hit him and avoid him every single time.
*Nidorino. He switches out with Pidgeotto when you use Dig. Coward.
*Pidgeotto uses Facade because it doesn't have enough coverage to deal with Rock Types. Useless.
*Nidorino returns. He uses Rock Slide, but at this point it barely matters. You can take him out with the few remaining Digs you have, or just use Rollout.
*Done.

The scene with the Scientist from before repeats, except you're in the spot where you fought Red. You have committed a big mistake.

You are now trapped in a purgatory of your own design, facing off against the ghosts of battles you were never meant to win, until you eventually succumb from the same way Charmeleon did: a lack of PP.
Being forced to lose, I decide to do so on my own terms, making it clear to the game who holds the true power in this situation.

This was a fun time all around. I highly (do not) recommend it, especially if you want to sink time and effort into grinding just for bragging rights and literally nothing else.
